Do you think it’s easier to dribble on a dry surfaceUpTheDarts wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 4:40 pm 2 dropped points. Not sure why the sprinklers are being switched on at full whack at half time, completely soaking the pitch and making it impossible to dribble, the amount of times the ball got slowed down on the surface was ridiculous
Oh well

We seem to want to surprise Angles by changing our normal style and go with no width and instead trying to play down the middle. Really could not work that one out . Highlight was Jebb’s superb equaliser , fantastic technique. I was hoping we were hoping to still nick it but after a player catches the ball with both hands a yard from the goaline , holds it for a second b4 getting rid of the ball and the ref giving nothing you no its not going to be your day .

Well the ball won't keep getting slowed down and be unpredictable for the attackers. Sprinkle the pitch yes not flood the thing. They don't need to be on full blast for the entire half time break.Kentc wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 4:55 pmDo you think it’s easier to dribble on a dry surfaceUpTheDarts wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 4:40 pm 2 dropped points. I reckon he deserved as many marks as that p**t who refereed the Poland-England game on Wednesday.

We did not play well but we did not lose .
To many stoppages by an over officious referee.
We are not going to win every game but 16 points from 6 games is
Not a bad return.
Jebbs goal was quality but our midfield was a little under par imho.
Tonbridge are a decent side and will take points of a lot of teams.
On to the cup next week and hopefully back to winning ways.

Only my second game of the year. In short spells we were great, but we struggled to get shots on target today. The set piece play was a little disappointing, but hard to attack the ball when being grappled by the centre halves and full backs. Tonbridge deserved their point.
Hoping that my next game will be the third qualifying round of the FA Cup. Still waiting to see my team beat a league side in the greatest tournament of them all.

Bad performance bad result bad tactics in not having enough width
Probably one or two players did not apply themselves thinking tonbridge would be pushovers . Maybe the whole club thought today would be easy , who knows
You need everyone and everything to be 100% focussed for every game every minute
However it’s a funny old game and odd results elsewhere helped us
Let’s hope lessons learned
The ref was poor and I don’t mean he can’t afford a sandwich

Fair result today and although we weren't at our best Tonbridge played well so may prove tough opposition for a lot of other teams as well.
Also just had a look at their results and apart from their first fixture they have picked up so probably never going to be as easy as some might have thought.
We seemed to play a few more longer passes today and I didn't think the balance of our side was right first half as we lacked width on the right, even though we looked much better when we changed this in the second half we still didn't really reach the levels of our previous games. But the key thing is when you're not at your best don't lose and we deservedly keep our unbeaten start.
Five wins and a draw from the opening six games is great and better than anybody would have hoped for so well pleased with the start we have made.
I predicted 1200-1300 today but looking around thought their was more inside than 1273 although Tonbridge never brought as many as i thought they would.
MOTM has been tough so far this season as we normally have several contenders but for me today Jack Jebb is the obvious choice.
