Pure DFC Announcement - Gary C stepping down
Re: Pure DFC Announcement - Gary C stepping down
Well done 180/Rick for taking this on, really appreciated.
Re: Pure DFC Announcement - Gary C stepping down
Totally understand any trepidation taking this on. I wouldn’t have the first idea about any of it, so very well played you. Really grateful.
DFC forum is the only ‘social media’ outlet I use, would be a great shame to lose it. So please, let’s make it as easy as we can for Rick, he’s no personal gain to make and so is doing it purely for the benefit of the DFC community.
Thanks again.

Agreed, thanks 180. Many of us prefer this forum, but the club obviously thinks that Twitter is all that matters, so thanks again for taking it on Rick otherwise we would lose quite a few online followers.
Of course thanks also to Gary for setting up and running the forum for all these years

Re: Pure DFC Announcement - Gary C stepping down
Despite the occasional poster disagreements the forum users generally conduct themselves in an appropriate fashion. At the end of the day we don’t always agree but we want to have the opportunity to express our views. We do it all the time on the terraces during a match. I think this season is as good a time as any for you to take this on, 180; the football is top notch a view I’m certain is shared by everyone… unless someone wants to disagree?

Re: Pure DFC Announcement - Gary C stepping down
The forum is activated but after registering & me activating members, please do not post in there as I don't want cross posting. I'll wait for Gary to give me the go ahead.
As I mentioned to Park Life last night, I won’t be asking for contributions as it’s not costing me anything extra.
I have paid for my hosting package since 2006 when I created my websites & it's all part of that.
I have 5 registered users so far.
I won't publish the link on the forum until it goes live, but if you want to register now, as per my previous post, either PM or email me.
Cheers
Rick

The plan at the moment (tentative) is to handover the "keys" to 180 on September 14th so you will need to email/PM 180 (info@thedarts.eu) by that date to get yourself set up for the launch.
After that, I'm sure you'll be able to register but it may not be approved straight away.

180, your post script??? Now you ask the question.
I can't seem to use that window at the moment. I'm no techno geek.

Hi,
I have decided to publish the link to the new forum, to save me emailing/PM'ing people individually. The link is: http://thedarts.eu/puredfc
Nice & easy to remember.
The plan is to "go live" on 14 September, so to save me activating lots of users in one day, if you want to post on the new forum can I ask that you register before the 14th. Obviously you can register at any time or not at all, as you can still view the forum.
As I mentioned before I have had to start again as I am running the latest forum software &
Gary's version is older & the backups are not compatible, so I was unable to restore it.
Thanks. Rick

Thanks again 180.
Will the Pure DFC forum stay "live" for a while after the 14th September just for reference purposes and to allow people time to register for the new forum?

No problem Steve.
I guess one way of keeping this forum running until the domain expires in March is to make this forum read only as per:
