The board had a choice of 4 possibles to become manager. I wont decry the other candidates but we have a great man at the helm. Guaranteed to win this league. No. Guaranteed to get us challenging. I think so. What is fact is that no one, simply no one could assemble the quality of squad like this. Whether it brings us utopia will be seen, but when i see players like Tom Bonner (yes not a king signing) playing like he does and his colleagues of total class around him i cant wait. It will be a season of ups and downs for sure, for all teams, but blimey if you arent excited by this then you never will be.
COYD love you Captain Tom, and Kingy if you read this, you have assembled a team that every real DFc fan should travel and support.

Good to get the win today, especially as Wimbledon fielded such a strong side, but what has impressed me more than the result is that we've now played Ipswich, Charlton and Wimbledon and for the most part, looked equals with all of them. Results don't really matter in friendlies and all 3 games could have gone either way, but whilst I take nothing for granted, we can surely be optimistic about the season ahead.
There are some fabulous players in our squad and perhaps more importantly, no shirt-fillers just to pad out the numbers. Every player in Kingy's squad has quality and I'd be happy to see any of them in the starting XI. Apart from a few injuries, pre-season is going very well and has been very encouraging. The standout for me so far has been Tom Bonner who seems to have really rediscovered his very best form and if anything, looks better now than he has ever done before. It's a very tough league and I don't know if we'll be good enough to win promotion, but we are definitely going to be in with a shout and whatever happens, I'm sure it's going to be an exciting season.
Oh and thanks to Kev for catching that fabulous goal.

Your comments on Captain Tom are spot on Spike. Smokin Joe Murtagh is unbelievable. That strike today from George. As you suggest there are no shirt fillers. The praise can go on and on. Going to be so hard because we are not the only triers , i know thats obvious, but what a place this club finds itself in. Tell your family and friends, if you love football, PP is the placespike wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 9:13 pm Good to get the win today, especially as Wimbledon fielded such a strong side, but what has impressed me more than the result is that we've now played Ipswich, Charlton and Wimbledon and for the most part, looked equals with all of them. Now I'm getting confused. On one hand we have an avid Maidstone supporter telling us we played a poor Wimbledon side and missed a hat full of chances and the next, praise for a Dartford side beating a quality Wimbledon side.
Well, the Maidstone guy says we missed a hat full of chances. I suppose he should be grateful we weren't playing them yesterday as I seem to remember we steamrollered them down at their tin shed with what obviously was a pretty naff side back then. Erm, last season. We did have Jacob Berkeley Agyepong though, who was such an ordinary player.
What to believe? What to believe.

Reg was on his travels yesterday around the ground via the bars of course, and bumped into Darren McQueen who was at the game yesterday. Got to say from his words that this lad loves our club, well what he actually said was he would love to come back to PP. Loves the place and Fans. He was talking about past times at DFc felt that his time under Kingy was the best football he has played. In truth there was also a comment from another Dartford playing stalwart yesterday who said he wished he had met Kingy earlier in his career. I would love to see macca back at DFc, along with many behind the goal with me. That time when Darren and Elliot Romain were ripping up teams was some the most scintillating football ive EVER seen played by a DFc team. Macca is lightning quick, in that box almost undefendable. God i wish we could get him and add him to the firing line up Add macca to that firepower and with the class in midfield, to the best defence around (the four centre Halves cannot be topped by anybody) and what a time. Macca and Elliots efforts were starting to put extra numbers on the attendances, before the enforced break. Who will ever forget that last game v Chelmsford, the team that were our nemesis for years, and yet were ripped apart, ripped apart. Get the goals flying in from that front line, and you could see crowds rise to the 16s or 17 hundreds pretty quickly i reckon. Anyway enough from Reggie again for one day, but he wants to put his DJ hat on and leave you all with a tune for today.

What a time to be a DFc fan.

He was an excellent player and would be a great addition to the team but unfortunately I can’t see it as Kingy seems to have his squad in place now and I’d be surprised if he’s got much of his budget left with the quality he’s brought in.
Plus Dagenham although willing to release him want a fee for him.

I suppose our best chance of McQueen coming back is IF Dagenham cant get a fee for him then maybe to keep balance their wages bill they could do a season loan with us on a 50% wages split , surely we can afford that ? , I would love to see him back as he was lightening quick and a proven goalscorer , however IF it is anything like then Kingy will be on it !!!!!
Can anything be read into him being at PP yesterday ???????

Agree with everything Reg has said there! Squad looks total quality with some proper strength in depth. The squad would certainly be enhanced with the return of Darren McQueen - come on Darts, let make it happen. Can’t wait for the season to start now!

We have been spoilt over the years with some quality squads, but don’t ever forget the Taylor era, we were superb for a while without crossing the line to the Promised Land. I believe we have the resources and management team to achieve greatness. Need to do it though, time to deliver without a penalty shootout. Let’s go Dartford, let’s go!

Well the Dons are League 1 and, according to their website, the team they fielded against us were all first team players and personally I thought it was a decent and very competitive game, but if an avid Maidstone fan says differently then I guess I was mistaken in my assessment and wrong to think that a mere professional League One outfit, playing 3 levels above us, would be considered a strong side. Who am I to challenge the wisdom of an impartial guru from the bastion of world football that is Maidstone Utd.
Mind you, according to the Dons' website, the match was a 0-0 draw.
