Also it's the middle of the cricket season and a Wimbledon final....the duke wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 4:39 pm I'm a bit suprised IF only 30% [ circa 500 ] of Darts fans could be bothered to attend after 18 months of no football and the opportunity to get a first hand look at the new signings
Obviously family duties and COVID restrictions [ eg me !! ] will clash but wouldnt have expected it to be a great number ??

I thought there were probably more like 600-700 Darts fans their and i think compared to previous seasons friendlies that's pretty good.
Whilst it has been some time since we could watch a game and you might expect more to have come on the reverse some just don't like friendlies and there's possibly a few who have been hit hard by the pandemic and couldn't attend. I doubt we will know for sure until the season starts but fortunately the crowds for pre-season look like they will generate some decent money for the club so i'm very happy with that.
As for the game it was really enjoyable and very happy with what i witnessed on the playing side.

I spoke to a few Ipswich fans and they estimated about 800 to 900 fans were travelling down.Park Life wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 8:46 am I thought there were probably more like 600-700 Darts fans their and i think compared to previous seasons friendlies that's pretty good.

Oh yes, Cricket and Wimbledon.( Yaawwwnnn). But I come in the don't like friendlies category. Still, nice to have the Dart's playing again.

I dont really understand why fans dont like [pre-season] friendlies as it gives us the chance to "run the rule " over the new signings and see possible decent trialists also meet up with fans who we have not seen for several months and it also puts a few quid in the Dartford budget !!

Never have done friendlies Duke, in all my years. Still, that's me. Even when I lived out at Darenth.
