Can’t help but think they’ve been very hard done to there under all the circumstances. But probably in keeping with all the mindless decisions of the moronic, out of touch, management of this league.

Great news as far as I'm concerned. Other clubs played on and if Dover couldn't afford too they shouldn't be in the league they are in.The 5th Searcher wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 12:53 pm Dover Athletic lose their appeal against a £40,000 fine and 12-point deduction for failure to fulfil fixtures and now they have to pay costs of £1600 too.

In my opinion a horrible club with a owner/chairman who thinks the rules don't apply to him and his club and though he is a ex Dart Hessy is a nasty piece of work if he doesn't get his own way
Re: Dover Lose Their Appeal
I feel they have been extremely fortunate to retain their place in the division and imo had no legitimate grounds to appeal, they should have been relegated.
They were quite happy to take the unfairly allocated hand outs from the NL for the first three months (which i believe Parmenter had a say in allocating as he was on the NL board at the time) and then when their league position looked very precarious they had no money to continue!!
If they had been near the top do you honestly believe Partmenter wouldnt have carried on? He's been quite happy funding the club for years......

Well said. The National league needs clubs like ours which in run properly, and a tin pot club like DoverPark Life wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 5:51 pm I feel they have been extremely fortunate to retain their place in the division and imo had no legitimate grounds to appeal, they should have been relegated.

Re: Dover Lose Their Appeal
Once fans flood back into stadia at the start of next season, I’m sure Dover will be extended every sympathy

Re: Dover Lose Their Appeal
When I read "Dover lose their appeal", my first thoughts were that they never had any in the first place.
My second thoughts were, bloody well serves them right. You can't accept all the handouts and then unilaterally refuse to play and expect to get away scot free. They should be extremely grateful they weren't relegated.

And I wonder how much influence Parmenter had on the decision to not relegate them... Let's hope the 12 point deduction is enough to ensure their relegation in the upcoming season.spike wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 9:47 pm When I read "Dover lose their appeal", my first thoughts were that they never had any in the first place.

24 points would have been more deserving. He's laughing up his sleeve.
Re: Dover Lose Their Appeal
I totally agree Spike, a £248,000 handout and they "couldn't afford to play". They should hand that back too!
