Oh no, I didn't put that very well did I? It was refreshing to see the 'old firm' clashing swords again and also that Rangers are back where they belong. :D

St. Johnstone beat Hibs 1 - 0 in he Scottish Cup Final at Hampden yesterday Shaun Rooney scored the only goal in the 32nd minute. Nothing particularly remarkable about that except for on the 28th Feb. 2021 St Johnstone beat Livingstone 1 - 0 in The League Cup Final & Shaun Rooney scored the only goal in the 32nd minute. Rooney is a wing back who has scored a few goals so not a total surprise he came up trumps, but both in the 32nd min.in major cup finals and the only goals in the games, just what are the odds? Disappointingly although both goals were from crosses they were from different players. The Saints. are only the 2nd team to win both Scottish Cups in the same season besides The Old Firm. The other was Aberdeen in 1988/89 post Sir Alex. They had joint bosses(it can work then) in that renowned management team Alex Smith and Jocky Scott! This is only the 5th season since the League Cup started after WW2 that neither Celtic or Rangers have been in either of the finals. It is worth having a look at the penalty that the Hibs 'keeper saved, he is 6' 10" and I have never seen a goalie look so huge between the sticks.

No one has dropped out but the big two's colts teams will play in the Lowland League next season after their offer to make payments to each club was accepted. A 1 season agreement in place, with the latest proposal to increase the SPFL from 42 to 48 clubs from 22/23 which is to be voted on very soon. The Old Firm's B teams would be admitted plus 2 clubs from both the Highland and Lowland Leagues phased in over 3 seasons with no relegation from SPFL Division 2 whilst the changes are effected. The Football World is holding its breath awaiting the outcome of this sensational development.

I was beginning to wonder why I'd asked. But hey, you did make it interesting........I think.
So, the B teams to be allowed into the SL.
I wonder if Bonnyrigg will make it in. :o

Ozymandias there must be dancing in the streets in Bonnyrigg tonight. In their opening Lowland League fixture they have beaten Celtic B 1 - 0. The Scotsman newspaper classed it as a grudge match even though it is the first time the clubs have met at any level. That's because The Roses vociferously led the opposition to the Old Firm having teams in the League. Their fans backed them up with 97% agreeing with the club's position.
However, most clubs voted for a one year trial, earning a couple of grand each paid by the Glasgow teams, 2 more home gate moneys with expected above average crowds helping to boost the coffers.
Meanwhile in Edinburgh Spartans were playing their annual Ronnie Swan Trophy charity match. So what, it's the opposition that is interesting - Chelmsford City. There was a youth teams clash first followed by the main match which was won by Spartans 5 - 1. Apparently not as bad as it first seems, it was 1 - 1 at half-time but an already depleted City team lost more players and had to continue with youth players who had played in the earlier game. Still City didn't returned empty handed, they got a supply of Spartans branded gin. One of City's sponsors funded the trip.

Hi Llamaman, hadn't realised their season had kicked off. But yes, a good result for them. I looked at a map to find where Bonnyrigg is?? Just South of Glasgow. Probably a grudge match from the start for them without the fact of their opposition to both Rangers and Celtic clubs.
Long may it continue and that I get to see my adopted 'Rose' in the SL. :D
