Roger Giles - RIP

Post by Gilesy14 »

Really sad to say that dad passed away in his sleep at DVH, he has been really ill over the last few weeks. But last week was showing signs of pulling through.
But he took a turn for the worse on Saturday night and sadly passed away with myself and mum by his side.

So sorry to hear the news earlier Steve, your dad was a lovely guy. It won’t seem the same sitting round the table with everyone else in the bar at PP and Roger not being there.
My condolences to you & your family at this difficult time.
RIP Roger

I'm absolutely gutted.

I sent my condolences to Steve earlier today when i heard the news and then shed a tear at the realisation that i wouldn't see Roger again.
He was such a great guy and I'll really miss him.

For over 40 years i have been fortunate enough to enjoy his company and always looked forward to seeing him and having a chat at the games as he was such fun and always made me laugh. He was a one off great guy and in my eyes a real DFC legend.

RIP Roger, I'll never forget you mate.

Very sad news , I enjoyed many a chat/banter with Roger about the Darts and life in general and he was good fun to be around , some of the stories that he and "big John " got up to as Darts away fans in the 70/80s were legendary . Roger was a character and will be missed by his Darts friends and of course my thoughts go out to his family at this very difficult time !!!!

RIP Roger

Steve

My sincere and deepest sympathy goes to you and your family for the loss of Roger to this world.
I go back so many years in knowing Roger and following the Darts and as others have said the meeting up and banter in the bar round the table prior to kick off will never be the same.
R.I.P. Roger and look down on each game from above knowing there are many fans who miss you
