Unfortunately that 'sick fucker' was quite a good keeper and had a little fan club over on the half way line.
Never mind, he's in the right place.

Chris Dickson scored the winning penalty for Hornchurch in their shoot out victory over Notts County in their FA Trophy semi-final. Hornchurch won 5-4 on penalties after the match had finished 3-3 in normal time with Hornchurch coming from behind three times. Another ex-Dart Liam Nash also scored twice including a 90th minute equaliser. The Hornchurch team also featured Ellis Brown.
Hornchurch will play Hereford in the final after they defeated Woking 1-0.

Re: Dartford Players of The Past
I thought that LIam Nash looked the business in the few outings he had for Darts, he could have filled one of the underperforming links in the season just ended, if only he had responded more quickly to the suggested offer that was made to him last May.
So the FA Trophy final is to be played between two "season suspended" clubs, well done to them but now they have to keep fit for almost two months to the scheduled date of the final, (22nd May) with no competitive matches in the meantime? Crazy situation, and doesn't say much for the strength of the National League Premier.

In the 1953 season I can remember Dave Underwood as well and this was my first season of watching the Darts with my dad
May I offer Marcus my congratulations as wellYes. Many congratulations to Marcus. Just about to watch the highlights as I wasn't able to see the game itself.
So the Darts have now had 2 keepers that have gone on to play in the old First Division/Premiership, and both as it happens, with Fulham. And I am young enough, at 71, to have seen both play for the Darts.
Besides Marcus, the other was none other than Dave Underwood, back in the late 50s.
Dave actually played for Liverpool in 1953-56 in 45 games.
To Watford the following season and then 57-60 for the Darts, before returning to Watford. He then went to Fulham, again in the First Division to replace the injured Tony Macedo. In that time, I saw him play at Anfield and the Liverpool supporters gave him a massive ovation as one of their own and he went onto play a tremendous game in an otherwise woeful Fulham performance. Was I proud that day!!
And to think, Marcus might have signed for Chelsea as a backup keeper. Now, he has made it remaining with Fulham and goes up as first choice. Really pleased for him.

I thought Dave Underwood didn't join us until the late 1950's from Watford and when he left us he rejoined Watford? but i stand to be correctedTrevor B wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 4:14 pm Pete SamsonMay I offer Marcus my congratulations as wellYes. You are spot on 1957 - 1960 as Pete said in his post below
I was also trying to give Pete a message that I like him started watching the Darts from around 1953 and we went to the same school a bit later on
Dartford Tech around 1957/58
I mis-typed the date and it should have read watching Dave Underwood in 1957
At 73 I'm allowed to get confused

Re: Dartford Players of The Past
I too can remember watching Dave Underwood in goal for the Darts. Just has a quick google and he did indeed join us from Watford and then returned to Vicarage Road after his stint at Watling Street (57/60). He then joined Fulham and after that turned out for a few other non-league teams before Managing Hastings United for a season and later going on to be the Chairman of Barnet, having previously played for both of those clubs. He is credited with getting Jimmy Greaves off the booze during his spell at Underhill. It was Underwood at Underhill then.
