2021/22 Season
2021/22 Season
Yes i know it's a bit early and although i think there may still be a few "discussions" and possible legal challenges i think it's fair to say this season has finally ended. So we can now look forward to next season and dare i say it watching a game from the terraces and with everyone itching to get out the bloody house maybe some decent crowds for pre season friendlies.
As for the playing side of things we have a decent squad and i suspect Kingy will want to keep a lot of them so i guess he will be sorting that out now. With a long break ahead of us hopefully this will give him the opportunity to assemble another decent squad although knowing him i suspect he will already know what he wants and have his targets in mind.
As for Kingy, i believe he has until the end of the 21/22 season left on his contract so hopefully the club will start negotiating with him now and i would like to see it extended by at least another two seasons. I believe this would give stability to the club, secure his services from any other clubs approaches and also very importantly help when Kingy is signing players.
Still seems a long way off but really looking forward to next season actually watching a live game and catching up with everybody, it's been so bloody boring lately i'm even starting to miss people like Gilesey, Jonty and Reg (well maybe not Reg!!).
See you all soon and COYD.

Re: 2021/22 Season
Steve King is a " smart cooky " and he will probably be a bit relieved that this season has finished as the liklihood is that we would have struggled to have got promoted and the break now gives him time to get rid of the non achievers and bring in some class that will give him a very real chance of promotion next season especially as he is unlikely to have[ or need ] a squad of 22/23 again ??
I have missed going to PP and the banter but its real world and a safe PP from July 2021 will do for me and then really looking forward to season 21/22 and Steve King leading us to promotion !!!!!!!!!

Yes I have to agree that I to have missed the pre-match banter in the bar sitting at the round table with all the usual crowd of regulars including Gilesey, Roger, The Duke, The 5th Searcher, John, Barry B, Ivan, Dave etc etc oh and a certain Park Life usually drifts in and we get a few up to date bits of information.
Social talk as well as club discussions makes for around 2 hours of interesting comments leading up to the match plus the rattling of the fruit machine in the background as Tank collects his winnings.
I'm happy to wait now for next season and in the interim period watching Kingy juggle the squad into an even more efficient team and look forward to more banter on the Forum.
Special thanks to Gary for running it through these very difficult times and I will catch up with him a.s.a.p.
So I hope to see all the other regulars behind the goal at the start of the season even you Reg

Yes agree. The team seemed to be losing their way on the pitch for reasons unknown to me, but possibly some players confused by Kingys tacticsthe duke wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 1:56 pm Steve King is a " smart cooky " and he will probably be a bit relieved that this season has finished as the liklihood is that we would have struggled to have got promoted and the break now gives him time to get rid of the non achievers and bring in some class that will give him a very real chance of promotion next season especially as he is unlikely to have[ or need ] a squad of 22/23 again ??

2nd in the League having played more games than most other contenders and 7th in the form table , get real Reg that team would have struggled to have got promotion and were NOT as good as the previous seasons team !!!
Sometimes Reggie you have to just bin those new " Specsavers " ?????

Re: 2021/22 Season
But who was to know if teams who had games in hand would have indeed won those games in hand. What if they were playing a team also with games in hand they both can't get 3 points. As for the form table there would have been times earlier this season when we would have been top of that. So the only real way is to take league position for me. As not being as good as last seasons team, did anybody see them play in empty stadia, interrupted training etc etc. It's just not comparative. I'm certain in my own crusty that with fans packed in BPPP (like that), and I mean packed in because the crowds were both going up, and they would have continued too, we would have easily matched what we witnessed the last part of last season. Dont forget that was the messiahs doing, I reckon we were all spoilt and need to remember every factor. Anyhow let's all make sure that we get behind the boys and everybody (as always) again. King is the best and possibly only man who can get us to the promised land again or indeed even higher.the duke wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 11:38 am 2nd in the League having played more games than most other contenders and 7th in the form table , get real Reg that team would have struggled to have got promotion and were NOT as good as the previous seasons team !!!

Re: 2021/22 Season
I totally agree that Steve King knows what he is doing and that we will be [very] serious promotion contenders for next season , I believe that Kingy has learnt lessons about the current [23] squad] and I predict that at least 7 will NOT be with us for the 1st game of next season , bet you a pint , winner to collect on the day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
