With no return of crowds before May, I do not see continuation in any format being commercially viable for more than a handful of clubs. Looking at the NHS web site today, the rate in DA1 1RT (the postal address of the ground) is 58.8 per 100,000 (that 0.058%). Under one of the earlier prison sentences (I've forgotten which one we've had so many now), we would have been allowed a crowd with a rate that low. I expect, but do not remember, that the rate was higher than that when so many of us took the opportunity to watch the Youth FA Cup matches before the crazy upgrading of its status at the first round stage.
Who knows what draconian measures will be forced upon us before the new season. Will we need permission from No.10 to visit a football ground? A vaccine passport perhaps. Apparently we are not allowed to leave the country now without Government permission. I am not sure how leaving the country puts anybody in the UK at risk of anything, so clearly the new Government rules are not aimed at protecting people. Serious border controls would provide protection to the UK population, not restricting departures, but we do not even stop and return to France those arriving on inflatable crocodiles on the Kent beaches.
At least motor racing is returning. Whilst I will have no football to enjoy at Easter, we have a race at Oulton Park on Easter Saturday. Whilst drivers, pit crew and officials will be expected to socially distance in the crowded pits and paddock area, spectators will not be allowed into the vast open areas that are available to them at most race tracks. Can't wait to get back to proper competitive sport.

And how many terrorists have been smuggled aboard the inflatables hidden among the economic refugees?
Apparently animals including cattle could be carriers of the virus now. Does that mean we'll be locked down until every living thing has been vaccinated?
June 21st is liberation day. I'll believe that when it happens.
The only thing George Orwell incorrectly predicted was the date by 36 years.
In his classic novel among other institutions we had the Ministry of Love where you were tortured.
The Ministry of Plenty which kept you starving.
Now fast forward to the present where we now have the Ministry of Care where you die of dementia through deprivation of being comforted through visits from your loved ones.
The Ministry of Health which closed the gyms and restricts the amount of excercise you're allowed yet encouraged the population to stuff their faces on the cheap for Britain for a couple of months.
The Ministry of Social Distancing which has absolutely nothing social about it whatsoever.
And if you want to leave you can apply for a passport from the Ministry of Protection which will be a complete waste of time as the sole purpose of its being is to oversee your imprisonment.
And should you manage to abscond overseas for a short period time you will, upon your return, find yourself incarcerated in the Hotel California in which you can come here anytime you want but you can never leave.

From The Guardian, a 16 team league playing each other once is in the pipeline. Winners promoted, another club going up via playoffs, local games midweek, long journeys at the weekend. Much to be discussed (argued about) but a decision will have to made fairly quickly. Good luck to those trying to sort it all out, I'll just watch on as an interested spectator. It's rather like a T V drama series will it build up episode by episode or is there a box set ready to view in one go.

Sadly, we will not be allowed to watch as watching sport is no longer a permitted activity.

Existential thought for the day.
If football is played in empty stadia, does it really exist?
I think not.
Re: National League North and South season declared null and void
Well Braintree still exist so I’d say Yes!!

Tweet from Ollie Bayliss:
A detailed proposal for a combined Step 2 mini-league has been submitted to the FA.
The plan will be considered by the FA Alliance Committee who meet tomorrow.
Any decision would then require ratification from the FA Council.

Hopefully the FA council show some common sense and turn the proposal down.

Cant understand why turn it down Dartford fc. In a good position to go up via this mini league we started the season. In hope. So if the club want to see it through. Let them.

If this man recieves a three year deal then Kingy is entitled to become a lifer. Doswell can only do it with pumping in the cash, and is still then only half way up the table. DFC play by Fair play rules, using the Guvornors talent and knowledge to procure talent within the budget granted and we challenge at the summit. I hope we are only in our infancy with Kingy at the helm, let's pray hes around for adulthood and beyond.
Long live the King
