In all honesty clubs that want the season ended don't have any ambition in my opinion and really shouldn't be playing at our level and above and should be put in regional leagues.Teams like Dover and Tonbridge should be playing in the Kent League or what ever it's called nowadays.Harry wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 10:55 am Agree the points Doswell, White and SK made were excellent.
I do think we need to look towards a re structure at non league level and look towards the lower end od the EFL and upper National leagues being regionalised as they were many years ago.
Something needs to be done at lower league level so that clubs can operate financially securely. There will always be individuals who bankroll their clubs through the leagues such as Salford, Fleetwood and FGR but often it ends in disaster a few years down the line, the most recent example I guess would be Dover as Jim Parmenter who looks to have run out of money to keep Dover operational at this stage. In addition to Bury and Macclesfield.
I always remember Colne Dynamo being the next big thing several years ago, not sureif they are even still a team.

A bit harsh! If they have no money they can't pay players or meet the costs of staging matches.

They shouldn't seek promotion then. Every time you get a promotion it will cost you more money in wages and expenses. If you can't afford the extra wages and expenses you should decline promotion and play in a league where you the afford wages and expensesLincoln exile wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 2:20 pm A bit harsh! But nobody could possibly have anticipated suddenly having no income from spectators, whatever league they are in.
Re: National League North & South suspended for two weeks
Hopefully we will find out soon about whether we carry on or not.
I don't want to see any club go out of business even Dover or Maidstone
For goodness sake someone make a bl** dy decision!

No gate money, no bar takings, no refreshment or hospitality income, not even golden goal and/or 50/50 draw money. Clubs may well have properly budgeted, but if sponsors or backers reduce or withdraw their input clubs are put in a difficult position. If our new sponsor withdrew, reduced their contribution or (hopefully not) went bust it would surely hurt us. We do have some income from the use made of the car park and perhaps, I don't know, from letting out space for the covid centre. Some clubs may already have loans for ground and/or pitch improvements already in their budgets.
There may be rent to pay on grounds, we are lucky no rent or mortgage to pay. Clubs that purposely get in over their heads, like we did in the eighties, would not get much sympathy, but perhaps each clubs individual situation should be taken into consideration rather than lump all the end of seasoners together. Let's not be too quick to judge.

It does beg the question of how Dartford as a Club operating without a " rich sugar Daddy * [ eg Havent , Ebbsfleet and Dorking ] can afford to continue to finish the season . I am sure that Sponsorship , Season ticket sales [ I guess none have been reclaimed !1] , The Warbler etc have ALL contributed to the funds but I just cant believe that this money should be used chasing a possible promotion and [ obviously] depleting the Clubs finances
I dont like Parmenter but he is doing whats best for Dover and I respect Tonbridge [ and others ] who do NOT have the financial clout that the " big boys " have and I would hope that IF Dartford hadnt got some major benefits the we would do the same for the long term ??
Slagging them of smacks of " Billy Big B.....ks " !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more Dave. Time to shut up shop and save some much-needed funds for next season. The club should not bankrupt itself by letting a few mates kick a ball around a park on a Saturday afternoon.
Re: National League North & South suspended for two weeks
Other clubs have managed to do an ‘online 50/50’. Maybe the club / supporters association could look at doing something similar.
