FA CUP: AFC Uckfield Town
Re: FA CUP: AFC Uckfield Town
So Elliott scores again in the fa cup. Do we have any idea as to how many he has. If only the club had taken the offer to sign him when he first came back from the states.
Re: FA CUP: AFC Uckfield Town
Lee Noble right midfield then taken off. Think he did well but he would run the midfield from the centre.
Sam did bugger all up front. Lazy and couldn’t hold up anything.
I think these players worked extremely hard and got our managers out of jail.
This teams set up is baffling, not on paper as a starting 11 but on the pitch we looked clueless.
I thought many gave a lot but best on day was Tom B, real leader, Charlie, another leader even from the front and nobes did well stuck out on right. Lots of effort but these guys have the quality.

My unofficial stats show 136 goals in all matches (bar friendlies), includes the 4 this season. I may of course be wrongBasher wrote:So Elliott scores again in the fa cup. Re: FA CUP: AFC Uckfield Town
Thanks 180. Can you break it down for the fa cup alone.
Re: FA CUP: AFC Uckfield Town
I could do but I would have to go through all my online archive pages for each season since 2009-2010. I don't have time right now. Maybe later tonight.Basher wrote:Thanks 180. Can you break it down for the fa cup alone.

Re: FA CUP: AFC Uckfield Town
First of all well done to AFC Uckfield who put in a good performance and were a credit to their club.
As for us, the first half was awful. We approached it with a poor attitude, no drive, passion or tempo.
I can't believe Adam & Jamie asked the players to play this way (or if they did then serious questions need to be asked) so why on earth did they let it continue for so long. We should have been at them from the start and approached the game in a far more positive manner.
I didn't think we set up well either, as far as i could tell we went with the 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 formation we have played a lot this season but with Charlie taking up a role on the left? Why on earth we did this when he is on current form by far the best central forward we have is beyond me. Ben was doing ok on the right so imo we should have either played another wide man or gone 4-4-2 with two central forwards. However we did this at HT when we replaced Deletgo with Jamie (albeit it 45 minutes too late) and from then on we were better. It wasn't a great surprise to see Uckfield tire the longer the game went on and we took advantage. Although we got the job done it was not a day to get excited or celebrate too much.
As for MOTM, Ben did ok throughout, Charlie (when played down the middle) caused them problems and Jamie and Tom made good contributions when they came on but Ben gets my vote.
