National League North & South suspended for two weeks
Re: National League North & South suspended for two weeks
Regarding the Kentish Football being speculation, take a look at the gov.uk site and read the Sports Minister's speech in the House of Commons 19th November and the statement issued by the Department of Digital Culture Media and Sport which is also covered by an item on the BBC site. Clearly the majority of the money was to be offered in loans. Its a bit like the ball being cleared off the line, if it is your team attacking it was definitely over the line, you see what you want (hope) to see, add to mentions being made of the package being a follow up to he Lottery Grant it put into the mind of most people it was all a grant. Honourable exception to this train of thought to Lincoln Exile who pointed the loan aspect out a good while back.

The allocation of the initial fund has been raised in the House of Commons this afternoon by Helen Grant MP, representative of the Maidstone constituency. See is raising a Football (Regulation) Bill during a ten minute reading. She is seeking the appointment of an independent football regulator. Approval has been given for the Bill to be presented formally to Parliament. The second reading will be tomorrow.

The DCMS has announced the first round of Winter Survival Package funding.
Steps 1-2 will receive loans but 'can apply for grants if their imminent future is at risk & loans are unaffordable'.
Step 3-6 will receive £10m in grants.
I would guess that the majority of clubs in steps 1-2 will be applying for grants as they will say that loans are unaffordable.

All clubs will apply for grants, few (no) clubs want loans.
No mention of regular testing or an improvement in protocols.

'Clubs can apply for grants to cover expenditure including lease or mortgage payments, utility costs, pitch and stadium maintenance, and Covid-19 compliance measures.'

Getting a bit confusing now - this statement is from just 16 clubs who want to end the season if they don't get sufficient funding - is the implication that everyone else is happy to continue? or is that too simplistic? What happens next and when?
