Option 3 is looking bleak, guess a lot of sides not looking for promotion will fancy that!
I would imagine most teams in the bottom half of the table will be happy to end the season now. And the chances are a good number of those in the top half won’t exactly be clamouring for the season to continue if they can save a few bob for next season. I’d be surprised if a majority of clubs vote for the season to continue.

Concord and Slough have both poked their heads above the parapet and said they were in favour of option 3.

If I had to make a choice for us, I would also go with option 3. If there are only loans available, the league have covered themselves so badly with the distribution of the funds/non release of the independent report, I would not have any faith at all in their ability to deal with it appropriately.

With every day that elapses of this ill-fated season, it seems less and less likely to finish and more of a surprise that it hasn’t already. My reckoning is that it’s only being persevered with in order to try and maintain scheduled promotions / relegations and cup competitions in keeping with the football league.
What I don’t fully understand is why a non-league team which has a positive Covid test in the camp stops playing for ten days / two weeks, but an EFL team just sends the afflicted home and carries on.
As a lockdown sceptic, I’m against suspending the season, but I think it will happen and probably quite soon.

Tonbridge also voted to suspend and it seems that the vote was unanimous. NL to decide on next steps tomorrow.

For the servival and long term benefit of ALL Non League Clubs of course it should be suspended and started again when the Country is declared Covid free ,If that were to be say in June 20121 then start the season then , WHY stick to the tradition of an August start !!!!!!!

The problem with your suggestion Duke, is that given the initial reactions and subsequent actions both nationally and globally to the flu variant, it is quite possible that we might never see a ball kicked in anger again if it’s not to happen until the country is declared “Covid free”!

Unless i'm missing something if we suspend the season now i think the odds are it won't get finished and will be cancelled in the future.

It looks virtually certain that no further funding will be forthcoming and It's extremely unlikely fans will be allowed back in for several months so where will clubs get the revenue to start again??
They wont and in a few months time will be in the same position as they are now and won't be able to afford to continue.

Also, if we did have to wait several months before we could restart and with over four months of fixtures to be played how would promotions and relegations work if the EFL/Pyramid had already started the 2021-22 season before we've finished?? Would they wait for us to finish??

I understand why clubs are opting for suspending the season and i hope i'm wrong but if you look at it realistically i think if we suspend the season now that's it.

The ridiculous thing is that as soon as we suspend the season clubs will put their staff on furlough and the government will be paying anyway.

Havant & Waterlooville, Concord and Slough have all announced that they are not going to play their fixtures on Saturday. In fact H&W have said that they are not going to play their next three matches. They all seem to be of the opinion that there is no point in playing a fixture that could turn out to be meaningless, incur them unnecessary costs and put their players at risk.

Twelve NLN sides have also issued a joint statement asking for league football to be suspended until the National League, the FA and the DCMS can come up with a solution that is acceptable to all.

Selfishly I hope the season continues but sensibly you have to ask how on earth clubs can sustain this. I'm afraid it's looking bleak.

shame there wasnt another option, if the government were to pay 80% of wages for players and staff, and let the clubs decide if they can find the extra 20%.

At least we got to see some football this season. If that's the way it goes, it will be gutting for all the effort by so many, but if it means the the survival of our club (s), so be it...

Have to say the streaming service will be sorely missed too.
