Lockdown Project - Honda S90

Post by Jonty »

I'm sure we all have stories to tell during the lockdown, whether we were sick, lost a family friend, relative or just lost your job etc. Rather than bore you with my story I decided to do something that I had planned to do for years and that was to restore a motorcycle that had been sitting in a field for almost 30 years and another 7 years in my garage. This is my covid project that I plan to finish in early April, weather permitting. It is, of course, a Honda S90ZK1 Super Sport, all 10hp of her. It wasn't the bike I wanted to restore but at the time I just purchased something that I felt would only increase in value as the years go on. Anyway, for all you old moped enthusiasts out there please check out the pics and I would be interested to know, what was your first bike. Mine was actually a Honda SS50.

Looks good mate, plenty of hours hard graft there.

I also took advantage of my prolonged furlough period last year and did my garden. Built new patio/planters, fire pit/barbecue seating area, new decking and a bar (don't tell Reg). Just when it was all finished I returned to work so not had the chance to enjoy it yet. Hopefully may be able to celebrate at the end of the season.

Last bike was a Raleigh Chopper in Fizzy Lrmonade :D :D

I'm glad I was not the only one on here to take a positive from a negative situation PL. It sounds like your project on the garden is the perfect opportunity for Reg to pop round on his Puch Maxi, with the finest bottle of fizz to formally open for your friends and family, when it's safe to do so again. Ah, those fizzy days were the finest.
