Eastbourne Borough Away 5th Dec 2020
Re: Eastbourne Borough Away 5th Dec 2020
Doesn't to me, there is a Darts defender almost on the goal line to the right of the goal.
Re: Eastbourne Borough Away 5th Dec 2020
Firstly,:well done EBFC for their excellent planning and arrangements on the day. I thought the stewards checks on entry and during the game were spot on.
Secondly, Borough played very well and I thought deserved the win. Danny Bloor has really built a decent team and having seen them a few times over recent seasons, they look much better now. Perhaps the only question is depth of squad and I feel a couple of injuries to key players could see their bubble burst and do a Hungerford, but I hope not.
We remain top of the league and I'm delighted with that (thank you Bath) so its important to stay positive, but we really ought to have got something from this game. I do feel for Kingy; he has built the best quality squad (particularly when you consider our strength in depth) I can remember, but I still don't think it has quite "clicked" yet. One Borough fan I was chatting to said "you have lots of individual quality, but not a quality team". Perhaps a little harsh but I could see what he meant.
Five quality forwards in the squad, and none has scored more than two goals each I think? So frustrating for Kingy, but I'm not sure that changing the combination every week is working? I felt moving Wynter from the holding midfielder role to full back didn't work Saturday. He was missed in midfield and Jebb for example was forced too defensively deep when his value to the team, like JBA, is supporting forwards and creating chances. Sadly Marsh Brown, who came in to provide service I guess, had a very poor game, kept going too central and losing possession. Oh for a younger Ryno!!!
This may all be harshly critical. We are top of the league after all, but I just feel that the quality and potential in this squad is just outstanding. I remain confident that it will soon click and god help our opponents when we do!!!
Kingy, you're doing a great job.... but I share your frustration!!!

Re: Eastbourne Borough Away 5th Dec 2020
There has to be 2 x defenders between the attacker & the goal, when the ball is played to him, not one??

Re: Eastbourne Borough Away 5th Dec 2020
Besides the defender to the right the goalie is keeping the scorer onside.
Re: Eastbourne Borough Away 5th Dec 2020
I thought the Goalie was the other side of the scorer?? But didn’t have a great view!!
Re: Eastbourne Borough Away 5th Dec 2020
On reflection, I think we have to take into account that when we levelled, the lack of support for the team vocally, would have been a major disadvantage for them. Whereas when they got the second the place erupted, giving EB the upper hand. Regardless we have to deal with that factor, EB deserved victory. Think we need a fans goal bonus fund for the top scorer this year!
Have I missed the post match interview with Kingy? Or was Jack MIA?

The place erupted?!!! It didn't sound like that there TD. Considering they outnumbered us by approximately 498 to 2, their fans were pretty silent throughout I felt and not sure they gave their side any advantage at all to be honest!
