The referee must base his decision on what he has seen during the first instance. On this occasion, as others have said, he didn’t blow for the foul and carried on with play until he, quite rightly, stopped play for the head injury. After he stopped play is where he massively messed up. He only gave the 2nd yellow, not because of the challenge but after seeing the injury which infuriated me and many others which he shouldn’t have done. Also got many other simple decision wrong.

After the first goal and for much of the 2nd half we were the better team and the draw is the least we deserved. Onto Billericay where I hope many of you can abuse Tamplin and support the team equally.

MOTM Ba, good debut performance and will only get better. Strong and fast.

I hope that Groomy is available at training on Monday night so that he can show Charlie how to jump for high balls with his arms tucked into his side so as not to risk getting sent of , I guess that Charlie after playing at a proven level for 12+ years would welcome his input ??????

I thought we played quite well in the first half and at half-time I really fancied us for the win. Ba and Knowles bring much needed pace and Sheringham still looks a class act to me. He holds the ball up brilliantly, wins headers and given the chances, I'm sure he will score goals. At last we have a forward line that packs a bit of punch. All the time these three are with us there is cause to be optimistic about the rest of the season.

Unfortunately, as has been the case in a few recent games, we lost our way a bit in the second half. It wasn't helped when for the second week running, Nobes (in my opinion the best player we have) made a daft tackle that cost us a goal. All the drive and energy that we were showing in the first half fizzled out from that point and it seemed the game was drifting away from us. It was not until after the referee decided to retrospectively send off Charlie, for an incident that occurred earlier in the game, that the passion and commitment came back again. Frankly, I think the ref did us a favour because it clearly p***ed our players off and seemed to fire them up to get the equaliser. That said, we had to wait for an hour or two to be sure it was going to count, just in case it turned out that the ref had blown for something earlier in the day and nobody had heard that one either. The 2-2 draw was confirmed on Radio Kent as I made my way home.

Without wishing to sound like Arsene Wenger, I honestly didn't see what caused Ransom's nasty injury when he and Charlie came together. It looked bad and I hope he's okay. I didn't see any foul and I wasn't surprised when the game was allowed to continue. In fact when the ref noticed the injury and blew the whistle some time later, I was initially a bit annoyed that it had broken up our attack. However, when I saw Ransom's injury I understood his reason and assumed we would restart with a bounce up with Eastbourne playing the ball back to us. Now I accept that just because I didn't see a foul doesn't mean there wasn't one and for that reason I couldn't in all honesty say whether or not the yellow card and subsequent sending off was justified. However, I remain absolutely convinced that the ref didn't see what happened either. He did not consult with the linesmen, neither of whom flagged for an infringement. I am absolutely convinced that he's seen the injury and taken a guess at what happened. Then having subsequently been challenged about why he allowed the game to continue for so long, he has fabricated the only explanation that would exonerate his actions. I don't believe him, I think he's a fraud.

Anyway, it was a decent performance for our lads and a massive step in the right direction. MOTM for me was Ba.
Looking forward to our visit to Zippos circus next week.

Refs causing outrage! Whatever next (did you see the ref for the England game?) If true and I trust respected fans view on here, this is surely one of the most ridiculous decisions ever. To allow play to go on without initially blowing for a foul, then awarding a free kick and a yellow card is not in the rules anywhere. Who else 100% agrees with the referees action apart from Groomy?

I'm waiting to see the incident again, even if there is a hint of a foul in the first place, did the ref wave play on? He would of been right to stop the game for a head injury, but that is different.

2 teams I adore were seemingly on the wrong end of a refereeing performance, one at DFC level, the other at International level.

Hahaha where did I say I agree with him, think he got it right or I wanted to give training? Lol. You guys!!

I think he got it all wrong and thought he was terrible. Not sure where you sit or stand but from my angle (and from Carols photo angle) I think he led with his forearm across Ransoms face. And not for this first time. Just what I saw, but we clearly see things differently on occasion.

Have a look at her picture and the immediate aftermath shows his left arm must have made heavy contact with his face.

I have to ask ...was this referee up to the task?
So many poor decisions and easily influenced by players
It is a tough job,was he pathetic or did he just have a bad day at the office?allowing himself to be influenced by players shows weakness
My unbiased Spurs mate who just came to see a game of footie
thought that the referee should be officiating in the pub league.
I have to agree.

I spoke to Jamie Coyle after the game and he also told me the referee stated that he initially blew for a foul but nobody
heard his whistle, present during our conversation was one of the Eastbourne coaching staff and he joked
that it must of been one of those silent whistles that only dogs can hear. From what I and others saw the referee
is reinventing history and that is a total lie, I hope there is some video evidence that shows when he
actually first put whistle to mouth. There may well have been a nasty challenge but I cannot possible see
how the referee can decide to give a second yellow card if there is no foul given. Interestingly the Eastbourne
players also seemed confused as to whether they should have been restarting with a drop ball or free kick.

.I wanted change and wanted TB to step a side now I feel we all put pressure on him and I now regret it.[/quote]

Hey DN. I wanted a change too. The problem is imo that there’s not much change. It’s still the Dartford boys club at the top. TB stepped aside and he deserves all the praise in the world but it had to be the time last season was a massive failure and it’s not the only recent season that’s been poor.
He’s a legend at DFC that will never change.
However change, have we changed? We replaced an older DFC man with 2 younger DFC men. Decided by the DFC board of mates.
We did need change but we needed a fresh change not picking mates to do the job again. I’m all for hiring with club links etc etc but we needed a fresh change with some one with their own ideas and experience where they don’t need to fall back on TB for any advice or support like Flan and Coyle have but rip it up and go again.
It was the board responsibility to ensure that we got the right man with new fresh ideas to our very attractive club.
But no, we keep it in house and the board are clearly too scared to go outside as that will mean a manager will not fall back on TB or any others at the club. The best way to keep TB involved is to have young ex DFC people.
This was always a bottle job of a decision by the board and done like everything they do to keep their own happy.
Should of gone outside or not at all not keep the DFC boys club rolling.
They must take some responsibility for the poor start and if we have a successful season they will some credit.

I know the board read this forum if they think I’m out of order or wrong you know who I am as you’ve even told me. Steve has my details.

This said while I don’t know them personally I do know flan and Coyle are decent people with DFC at heart. I back them 100% as they are in the role.
I think recent weeks recruits has been excellent and they deserve some credit for this.

Long way to go still and we can still improve.
