This must be getting very close to the exit door for at least 3/4 of the current squad IF they dont start from tomorrow getting their a...s in gear cause 8 games in and so far its just NOT acceptable to the fans and presumably the Management Team .
It seems that the 18 year loanee [ Knowles] showed plenty last week and we have several 18 year olds in the Academy [ as shown with cameo 's in preseason ] that would at least give 100%

Interesting to note that ex Dart Davie Martin came of the bench to score Eastbournes only goal , the winner at Weston last week !!!!!!!!

Presumably the members of the squad most likely to leave are those who don't even make the eleven and may not get much opportunity to prove themselves now.

They are presumably under contract though so can't just be released, and Dfc wont have the funds to pay them off?

This will be the last game I miss after two weeks away (have managed to scrape some wi-fi together to post this). It has sounded as though the ETU result was rather fortuitous and the HT / SAC defeats were more of a continuation on the theme of the Wealdstone and Concord games. Most of what's been said on here which I've just caught up on has come as no surprise and it pains me to say that it's actually been quite nice to have a little holiday from the football as it's been so abject. However, I'll be keeping it all crossed for this one and will be checking the score as soon as we touchdown at Heathrow tomorrow night. I hope it's a positive result and a more enjoyable game for the fans.

M1 South- When I made the same point about the difficulty in getting rid of players on contract it was suggested that fewer players than in the past were actually contracted. Something to that effect had apparently been said at the meeting with fans pre-season. In any case some of the "under performers" were signed from the league above and are perhaps more likely to have signed contracts, so your point is still very valid.

First game for me in almost a month with being away.
Hoping my run continues in that I've not seen us lose at home in the league this year......
Very tough game. Eastbourne having got 8 points from their 4 away games and are unbeaten away. They have also scored in each of their last 7 games.
Let's do this and show some passion and pride whatever the result.

It is not bad luck or injuries or even a bad moon rising that we are in the bottom third of the table.
Imo it is lack of goals due to lack of chances because very little is being created some players are not performing and some just don't look up for it.
Hopefully things will improve starting on saturday.COYDsss!!!

Well at the supporters meeting, Jamie and Adam specifically made the point that they had NOT put many players on contract and explained that this was to give them more flexibility to make changes. Some fans are always calling for MORE players to be contracted, others are more realistic and understand the financial risks, but very few have asked for less! That being the case, there was no brownie points to be scored with the fans by saying what they said, so what possible reason would there be to have said it if it wasn't true?

So I have to take our new managers at their word. My worry is that the few who ARE on contract may be (in my opinion at least) the wrong ones. If it was my decision, five of our squad would already have been shown the door and 3 others would need to buck their ideas up PDQ. When I look at the quality of players who were let go, (Brown, Collier, DOA, Wall etc) and compare those to who we've brought in and kept, I have to say that Jamie and Adam's views on what constitutes a good player are poles apart from my own.

With last week's two new arrivals, I think we have around 9 or 10 players worthy of a starting place. If they are all fit and playing then we have half a chance, but in my opinion the others are simply not good enough and whilst I welcome the rally cry from our captain, it won't turn bad players into good ones. Of course, I want to be proven wrong. I'm desperately hoping that I don't know what I'm talking about and it's all gradually going to come together. Nothing would please me more than to be eating humble pie later in the season.

Anyway, on to tomorrow. If everyone is fit and we have our best 10 on the pitch and we don't have to make any subs, we might just do okay. If we can just grind out a result and keep ticking over with the points, then there is always hope things will improve as the season goes on.

You are spot on spike , it really is time for Adam/Coyley to weald the axe , the truth is that so far the only new player who would have got into last seasons runners up first 11 would have been Ben Greenhalgh [ need to see a few more games before I decide on Charlie ?] , 8 games in and no fans [ or very very few ] have had anything good to say about the " newbies " , [almost] everyone cannot be wrong !!!!!!!

I will be there tomorrow cheering the " team " but more in hope than expectation !!!!!
