Re: Fans allowed in for the friendly with Dover on Sept. 22nd
Hi all, Just for accuracy and clarification, it's not a Council meeting but an independent Safety Advisory Group ( SAG ) . SAG's can comprise a whole range of relevant parties including Public Health, emergency services and other relevant parties. Council's ARE responsible for convening SAGs and a meeting may include Local Authority representatives ( typically community safety and Environmental Health officers ) but they are independent and not a Council committee. They are not statutory bodies and don't usually have the power to approve or prohibit an event taking place. I say 'usually' because in this case the National League have made clear in their statement that the pilot fixtures are "subject to local safety advisory group approval." . Following the National League's announcement on Friday, the Council was asked to convene a SAG and it has ( as I think has been mentioned elsewhere) been scheduled for Monday morning. Just for the record, SAG meetings are attended by the relevant and appropriate professional officers .... councillors aren't involved!!!
Hope that helps
Jeremy

Thanks, Jeremy. Always nice to get it from the horse’s mouth. Even if that horse isn’t involvedJeremy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 6:52 pmHi all, Just for accuracy and clarification, it's not a Council meeting but an independent Safety Advisory Group ( SAG ) . Get the fans in for Christ sake,

What day is this match actually scheduled for? This thread says Sept. 22nd, which is a Tuesday. But under the Season Ticket thread, when somebody said "Can't wait for Tuesday", somebody else said "No, Wednesday". ???

Having been up to watch the ladies beat Ramsgate 8-0, it would seem that it's 50-50 as to whether fans will be allowed in on Tuesday. The club are ready and willing but as Jeremy has said, this still needs to be approved by the relevant parties. All we can do as fans is wait and hope., but if we do get the go ahead, it is absolutely imperative that we abide by whatever restrictions and conditions are imposed upon us if we are to have any chance of gaining access for the early season games. So please everyone, if we get the chance to go, let's put aside any personal views about the virus restrictions and just go with the flow for the benefit of us all.

No worries, I’m a good actor.
Glad you got to see a good game by the sounds of it.
