I think that when Steve King came in it gave Darren the boost he needed. Steve could have brought his own man in to take the place of Darren as most of the squad at that time was at an all time low. Kingy brought in Elliot to complement Darren and it brought Darren to life.
Just because Darren has now left the club is not a reason to bypass the effort the kid put into turning our season around.
I am sure Darren will be long remembered for his Heart, pace and goals he got for this club of ours.
I hope he does well at D&R, I for one shall be looking out for his games next season, and if it doesn't work out for him I'm sure Steve will be looking to bring him back, on loan.
Player of the Season
Re: Player of the Season
Close call for me - Darren McQueen, Elliot Romain or Tom Bonner. Elliott will shine even brighter next season - guaranteed!

Elliott for me ... changed it all when he came in
Re: Player of the Season
Toss up between McQueen and Romaine for me. They were excellent together and played a massive part in our romp up the table.

I think its very easy to forget the part that the defence played in our success. Goalscorers get the plaudits, for me the the centre half pairing of Josh and Captain Tom were just as good as McQueen and Elliot Romain. For me either Josh Hill or Captain Tom.

The defence were excellent Reg, as was our midfield, but I still think Macca and Elliott were the standouts.Reginald Horsfield wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 6:11 am I think its very easy to forget the part that the defence played in our success. I can't even remember the last time my player of the season vote went to a striker.
Can anyone remember who was the last striker to win this honour?
