Dover FC

Dover have made all fourteen contracted players available for transfer, their Chairman having said a week ago that the future of the club was in doubt because of the likely cap of 15% of capacity when the season begins. I don't really see how any club can function with such a limit in place.

This is my opinion is the thin end of the wedge. More clubs will follow without crowds allowed in.

Droylesden from the Northern Premier League folded yesterday due to the knock on effect of the Coronavirus. They cited having no income as one of the main factors. They may not be the last to go under.

Remember going there to get our FA Trophy game against Halifax played. They were having big trouble shifting heavy snow from the Shay, so it was played at Droylsden. Seem to recall a very scenic coach journey across the Peak District (snake pass? M1 South would know) and grabbing a photo opportunity with big Rob Howarth who I think was living on Merseyside at the time, a nice surprise to have his company.
I think they were a little tardy (or strict) in opening up the gates to the fans, but despite losing the game, it was a good day out and a nice place to watch football. Very sad news for the fans, what chance a phoenix club to arise?
