Now the dust is settling ... KING OUT! No no no, I'm only joking, Steve King should be given the freedom of Dartford for what he achieved in such a short space of time, a brilliant league manager, but for some unidentified reason he has a 0% return from four play off finals. I am pretty sure his brief when he took over was to "keep us in this division", and this he did with the added bonus of teasing us with the play offs. I am a great conspiracist, (ok I have probably just invented this word?) the origins and reasons for Coronavirus for example, but I am hoping somebody within the Dartford camp explored that penalty spot in depth yesterday? Why did Weymouth run the game down seemingly hell bent on a 0-0 for the last quarter? I am reminded of a kids baseball toy where the ball cup aerially releases the ball to be hit. Was there a similar device remotely controlled under the turf? It's the only explanation I can come up with for three kicks all going over?
So well done Steve and team, you must be heartened by your achievements, not disheartened by 3 kicks. Looking very much forward to the next episode and hoping to be a part of it.. COYD
ps did you know that UTD is a medical abbreviation for, "Unable To Determine" and "Urinary Tract Dilation", may explain much about our "friend"?

This could be a blessing in disguise not getting promoted as i seriously don't think crowds will be let in football grounds until the new year, but obviously i hope I'm wrong
Promotion to the National league would have meant getting players in who would want more in wages and and the travelling and the overnight stays. I really don't know how some clubs at out level will survive without fans paying to watch games let alone National league level. Obviously some clubs are going to go to the wall if things don't pick by Christmas.

At half time I sat looking at the pitch as you do. Is it me or did they only water one end of the pitch, the end they were attacking second half, the end that the penalties were taken at. Conspiracy or not, Aj slipped with each penalty, and Weymouth came out with longer studs second half and someone pressed a button that raised the penalty spot 3cm's with each of our kicks, thus sending each over the bar. And LHO was nowhere in sight, unless he was sitting on the stand roof.
I'm sorry, I've been drinking the last of my whisky.

Good morning to you all from a Weymouth fan. You have a great side there which I’m sure will go on to have a great season next year. Just to correct an earlier post regarding Weymouth, we were promoted last year as outright Champions of the Southern league. We then went on to beat Kettering champions of the Midland section of the Southern League to become Champions of Champions. Sadly we lost our 100 goal striker Brandon Goodship to Southend at the end of last season. We also lost our star player and leading goal scorer Abdulai Baggie to Eastleigh at the end of the this season, a huge loss to the club. Regarding checking the penalty spot, the Weymouth pitch won an award for the best pitch in non league football a couple of years ago, it is attended to by two volunteers. Good luck for next season.

Really? Surprised it beat Boreham Woods??

Thankyou Prestonrammy for your post, it has cleared something up for me. I posted about you coming up via the play-offs as I had read it somewhere, then read that you had won automatic promotion. Was confused but too lazy to investigate, that's some title Champion of Champions. Good luck next season, hopefully we will join you for 21/22. Unless you keep your upward curve of course.

Prestongrammy fair play to you for progressing even by losing goodship and baggie. Best of luck in the National league.

Hi Prestonrammy
Just to correct an earlier post, Brandon Goodship only scored 75 goals for you. Interesting career though as he hardly made any progress until he came to your club having made very few appearances anywhere else.
Anyway, congrats on winning the penalty shootout and good luck next season.
