Re: Football
I don't think I've ever seen a player get away with as many fouls as Ramos does. The keeper's been getting away with mistakes all season.

Re: Football
I notice there are no press reports from Steve Tervet as yet, and yet I read in the Kentish Herne Bay Gazette an interesting article by him re Referee's with an interview with Nick Ryan. Surely it would have been a good post from Steve if he'd put it on here. In one way reaching out to youngsters/adults for recruitment for referee's and in another, from experience, reaching out to the referee's already in the ground on match days.
Having did my referee course back in the early 80's and, as in the early part of Steve's article, spent three years putting up with the verbal abuse from so called prima donna 'footballers' who knew better than the referee how he should be running the game. Or letting the occasional 'thug' in off the street to take part in a game. I was quickly 'out of it' and gladly so.
Nowadays, of course' I hear them standing all around me at PP, some of the inane remarks offered to the referee and his assistants have me cringing and some have me in fits of laughter.
So, in a way, it would be good for more people to take up the offer of training to be a referee. I noticed they do two days intensive training and then get put in the middle to run a game. If some of the characters that surround me at PP were to take up the offer, I would love to be on the sidelines watching their introductory game.

Really sad and just reminds us how lucky we have been in terms of the hard core fans that kept the Club afloat and of course DBC providing us with PP. It would be a shame if football didn't continue at one of our former 'home' grounds.Capricorn25 wrote:Really sad , Us at DFC should know!Gilesy14 wrote:Sad really!
Re: Football
Maybe one of the other Dartford based sides should move to Ship Lane - Kent Football United. They've just been relegated from the Southern Counties First Division despite finishing 7th because their ground at the Glentworth down Lowfield Street failed the ground criteria. They are in the process of building a new stand and will appeal.
