Not a showcase appearance for Tony, but a nice surprise to catch it this morning. Up against George Best too!

I’d imagine the show will be on ITV hub as well.

Also playing against Rodney Marsh and Bobby Moore, with Flanagan senior as his own strike partner.

Never mind all the name dropping of some better than average players, there were some real stars on display. Mark Penfold & Colin Powell were in the Charlton side on the field, whilst Willie O'Sullivan & Jeff Wood were in their 97/98 squad. Most of those names should ring a bell with Darts fans over a certain age, but Jeff Wood. One Dartford appearance in 1996/97, surely the peak of his long career. Also playing for Charlton against Fulham was Phil Warman. I worked with his brother John, who played on the wing for Bromley for a few years after his playing days & was regaled by many stories of both of their careers. The football scene is miles apart for those who are pro. players & those who are fans. As an extra Tony was playing with Keith Peacock, an 'Addicks legend, & a part of English football history as he was the first substitute in The Football League. Only 1 sub. allowed & only as an injury replacement, a proviso than didn't last too long for obvious reasons. It was an enjoyable dose of nostalgia, strange to see Tony playing against a team in black & white who even had a John Mitchell in their side, though not the really famous Darts star of course.

Was with 2 ardent Charlton fans yesterday and I'm led to believe that Tony scored on his debut against Millwall. This seems to be more than enough to make him a cult figure at CAFC and to propel him into legendary status.

Can anyone remember a defender called Dan Johnson that played for us?
He’s just signed for Herne Bay from Margate but says his previous clubs were Bromley where he became an England C player and also Dartford but I can’t recall him.

From what I recall Dan played for us last season. He played well in the middle at the back but of course was often out on the left where he struggled, his pace wasn't great and he often got caught out.
Or was it the season before? Time flies.
