What worries me if these players are the best they could sign it does make you wonder if they can get any better ones.
I have seen enough Dartford teams over the years to see this one is not working. The Alex **** decision was strange unless there is something more to it. From what I saw of the first game at Bath we were a bit fortunate to win, we did well to beat Chelmsford but it could easy been drawn , beside that we don't look like scoring let alone winning.

When we failed to score first half the writing was on the wall ( no pun intended). Second half their young inexperienced team played with some heart and deserved the victory. Hungerford are not much and Chelmsford blew them away 6-0 here a few weeks ago. Hungerford Town is a wonky football ground with poor support light years away from Princes Park but in my 3 visits there I've yet to see us get a decent result. I'm starting to feel sorry for Flanners and Jamie what do you do when your team don't play with any great effort.

get rid of some of the new players,i would keep ben and billy and get rid of the rest.we need a couple of forwards on loan but not flanners or coyles mates.tommytollbooth wrote:When we failed to score first half the writing was on the wall ( no pun intended). Re: Hungerford Town (A) - 25th August
I can see why there is so much unrest on this forum.
I am usually supportive of the team but IMO this squad
lacks quality and desire,I find it very difficult to say but
at the moment we are heading South to the Ryman and if changes are not made then it could be gates of 550 by November.
We have all seen bad performances from a Dartford team but this
lot have turned it into an art form.
As for scoring a goal ,to me we don't have a bl**dy clue!
I will be there on Monday ,more in hope that this team will
At least look like scoring a goal

I was very pleased to see Adam making the point that some of the players were not showing the attitude expected of those who play for Dartford. BUT- most of the new signings were individuals well-known to the management team from their previous clubs and it is surely fair to assume they also knew what type of character they were.

Full marks to Hungerford though as they were not a strong skillful side but they did keep on trying to play football and show some enthusiasm for the game and should have had more than the one goal which won them the match in the second half.
We had 6 good chances during the game and put 5 wide and only Ben's free kick caused their keeper to make a save.
This was probably the worse Dartford performance I have seen for many years and you could see that several of the players were just not good enough and were happy just to go through the motions appearing to lose the ball more often than not or fail to complete a decent telling pass.
i would say that only two players put in a full effort for 90 minutes and they are in contention for M.O.M. and I gave it to Ben after his effort on goal from the free kick and at least he gets the corners and free kicks past the first defender and into some dangerous areas in the box it's just we have no one to take advantage of these moves and put the ball in the net.I have to agree with him we don't seem to have any forwards who can score and today Bradders again looked to be our most likely player to score as at least he tried with shots and headers whilst those around him just stood watching each other with few attempts to win the ball.Spike said
It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that we are pitiful up front and Wall has scored 6 in 6.
But for a season ticket I wouldn't be going to Monday's game and that is the first time in 65 years watching the Darts that I have felt this way and I have no doubt that there are others feeling the same way to.
Have to agree with you , I too have a season ticket ....however if nothing changes I certainly won’t be paying 14 quid to watch cup matches this season ...some changes are needed quickly before we run out of money and attendants take a massive hit ....who knows how many will be their Monday ?

You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.
It’s no surprise to me that we are struggling to fashion chances seeing for the last 11 or 12 years creativity has rested on the shoulders of one man; Ryan Hayes. So we let him go, then you have to replace that creativity. I know you can’t replace Ryan, he is certainly one in a million in the non league game but do any of the new players offer any creativity?
I only watched the Hemel game and I have to say the team were totally useless. No connection between players, no sign of a plan to move the ball forward. TB ‘s style of booting into the channels and chasing it may not have been everyone’s idea of good football. At least it was a way of getting the ball forward and everyone on the team knew what their role was in achieving it.
I was surprised given the reasonable record of these joint managers with limited resources, that our team is so hapless. It was a bit unfortunate that Flanners seems to put the blame at the new players’ doors, I think the fact he is deflecting responsibility is not a good sign. He has publicly created a them and us between management and players. I don’t think TB would have done that. In fact I don’t think TB would do a lot of what’s been going on this last 2 months.
I’m struggling to move on clearly. I want to be encouraged by improvement before I get back in the boat.

I've only read the first few lines of your point and not the rest. So apologies if i get this wrong. We did not let Ryan go he was offered an UNBELIEVABLE deal and no one could blame him for signing. It devastated him to the point of tears and in fact I believe had he known at the time what was happening he may well have stayed at DFC despite the new better deal. And indeed he will tell you that there are many DFC fans who criticised him. Sorry but i will now go on and read your full quotePlan B went well wrote:You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

Re: Hungerford Town (A) - 25th August
I did say there would be ructions on here should we lose this one. No detriment to Hungerford but we really should have come back with something. But as I said in my pre-match post, looking at the starting 11, I would have thought Hungerford had a good chance of all three points giving the pitiful performance against Wealdstone.
A demoralised defence from last week and the rest seemed to have been 'shuffled' about. I don't rate Jamie or Chez or a few others. But I think I would have started the three sitting on the bench for our best chance of something.
Delano is probably unfortunate, as the injury to Pughie was the worst thing that could have happened. Both to him and the club. And I do not think that the inclusion of a fit Noble would be enough to be the answer for this sorry crowd.
I have to question the management on a few decisions made so far, but at the moment they have my backing of sorts. Certainly not enough to 'jump off a cliff for' though.
It's only 6 games in, to some, early days. To others, it's going to be a long, long season.
It makes you wonder that Chelmsford had a really 'off' night against us. And there was me thinking we played well and the team could gel well together and go on from there. Is it really the same squad??
Thankfully, I can't make it on Monday.

Re: Hungerford Town (A) - 25th August
Someone said yesterday that they take a day think about it then post.
So I did and after reading the comments on Twitter towards the players and the club I am glad that I did.
I went to the game with a bit of hope that after the comments that Adam said during the week that we would see an improvement, sometimes the truth does hurt and some of the players do need to question themselves. It is nice to have someone come out and say yes we was rubbish rather than dress it up.
I agree with a number of the fans on here and say yes that the current squad just aren't cutting it and that is the truth, the thing is they are all on contract and are not going to walk away as they have signed however as others have mentioned, attendances will fall people will not pay to watch a team that was great at a number of stages over the years put in performances that I saw yesterday.
But what I don't like is the public attack on the club that I have seen on Twitter this morning. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT SPEAK TO THE CHAIRMAN. All you have done is given a kicking to the players that did try yesterday the likes of Ben, Deren and Elliot.
I will be there on Monday not because I have a season ticket, but because its my football club and I support it through thick or thin.
As the great Bill Shankly said "If you can't support us when we lose or draw don't support us when we win" at the moment I think that hits the nail on the head.
See some of you Monday!
