Ebou Adams is a great signing for the Fleet, his best is yet to come. I'm surprised Leyton Orient with their 4000 crowds couldn't keep him. It also sadly shows that we have fallen some way behind Ebbsfleet and their Kuwaiti money.
That's an understatement Tommy. At first I did think why Ebbsfleet and not Leyton Orient. Then I thought that Orient did have financial issue's at the beginning of last season and they are still ongoing. At one point they looked to be doing a York City.
Obviously, money talks, and I do feel Ebbsfleet are in a stronger position as long as Mr Moneybags is interested. It is also said that Ebou had higher/better teams interested in him. I wonder who?
So yes, money does talk. But good luck to the lad, nice to think that if Ebbsfleet do get promoted it might be on the back of a Dartford youth product.
Did anyone else catch The Big Match Revisited on TV last week which featured a Charlton v Hull City match from the 70's?
What made this especially interesting was a hat trick scored by Derek Hales - after he left Dartford FC and before he went on to bigger things.
Halesy was a real character with a mop of black hair and was often with his socks rolled down. He didn't shy away from a bit of aggro (as Adam Flanagan's dad, Mike, might testify). He remains Charlton's all time leading goal scorer I believe.
I had the pleasure of playing cricket against Derek several times (he played for Upchurch, near Rainham) and for a fast bowler, he was quick.

Im surprised at this, I know it's a step up but feel Havant will struggle next season and maybe so will Alfie, then it will be back down to the level he was playing las season, Cannot see many takers for him in Conference and above if he is playing in a struggling team.
