Ebbsfleet manager departs

Our neighbours, Ebbsfleet United, have announced that manager Kevin Watson will leave after his contact expires at the end of May. The club have decided not to renew his contract. This comes only two weeks after the club announced that they will not be renewing the contracts of 7 players (including the likes of Nathan Ashmore, Sean Shields and Aswad Thomas) and that their captain Jack King has retired.

Changes are afoot down the road by the look of things.

That was a bit of a surprise considering it was his first season at Hemel. He was advised that his contract was not being renewed (I can see a common thread appearing) for next season. At the time that the season ground to a halt they were 6 points off the play offs with a game in hand and had reached two cup finals (yet to be played).

Appointed a manager from Germany, unsure of his name currently.

Ebbsfleet's new manager is Dennis Kutrieb (no I've never heard of him either!).

Herr Kutrieb joins Ebbsfleet from Tennis Borussia Berlin who were top of the German fifth-tier NOFV-Oberliga Nord when the season came to an abrupt halt for obvious reasons back in March. For further details click on the links below......
