Dartford 2 Maidstone 3

Literally one last throw of the dice to take this to penalties. Bit upset.

Dartford 2 Maidstone 3 AET

Well, I’ve enjoyed finishing the season but am very glad that Maidstone haven’t really been promoted at PP. That would’ve taken some serious living down, especially given their placing and form when the league ceased in March.

Now - back in the real world - the NLS needs to be resolved and we know that the remaining games won’t be played. So hopefully there will be a solution soon.

Thanks to everyone who joined in with this silliness and let’s hope the playoffs do happen and conclude at PP. Cheers all.

The league have been so impressed by this thread that they have accepted the results and Maidstone are promoted with Wealdstone. They are now organising the National & Northern divisions to be settled by the same method to be completed by 23rd May. Well maybe not, but there will have to be some agreement on how to proceed or there will be long term damage to many clubs. There is an idea being floated on finishing the EFL by awarding clubs average points per game for the outstanding fixtures. There is a tweak in that it would be average points per home per matches that have been played, the same for away fixtures. There are clubs threatening legal action against the EFL, which seems a bit short sighted as in reality any damages they might receive would only be from league sponsorship and tv money, leaving less to be shared out between clubs. Then of course other clubs may counter sue so it will just go on and on. The same situation is happening in Scotland where every solution offered picked apart by various clubs. Perhaps clubs will have to accept a vote for various suggestions with the winning one having to be accepted by one and all. But then I expect League rules would have to changed to permit this which would need a vote. Glad I haven't got to untangle it all, I'll just stick indoors apart from my weekly shopping trip and still being around to see the Darts playing again in whatever Division will be a successful outcome for me.
Anyone missing the action catch up on Womens FA Cup Final special shown on the BBC iplayer. Four games in only half-an-hour, some very good goals, a lot of drama and I don't suppose any will know the final scores so some suspense.

Given the number of high-scoring away wins, I have a suspicion that Germany’s Bundesliga have adopted diceball technique to complete the season, despite assertions that the fixtures are being played “behind closed doors” and some selected ‘coverage’. My legal team is investigating.
