I Thought Steve Connors who played at the back was an excellent player. he never seemed rushed or panicky. Some great memories

Probably one of Dartfords best ever defenders.Ozymandias wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 1:04 pm I Thought Steve Connors who played at the back was an excellent player. he never seemed rushed or panicky. Some great memories

Great memories but haven't they reviewed the wrong season at the end of the report?
Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Kent Online's sports section has an article on Tommy Sampson, remembering his Wembley triumph with Deal at Wembley 20 years ago and his health problems of the past years. Despite all his efforts it didn't work out for for Tommy in his spell as Darts manager, but those of us who saw him in action on the pitch will fondly remember him as a very good player indeed. Good luck Tommy, keep well.

Yes,Llamaman, I was there back in 2000 at Wembley. I can understand why Tommy views the goal each day.It was a cracker. What surprises me was that Deal beat Eastleigh in the first round. How things have changed regarding certain clubs.

Club website has often been slow updating and of little interest compared to this forum, but some good recent articles of players favourite seasons.
As well as Robbo mentioned above, there are Peter Taylor, Micky Collins, Tommy Osbourne, Marcus Bettinelli and Elliott Bradbrook. Worth a read for us oldies to reminisce over, with full summaries of those seasons, video clips and newspaper articles, photos etc.
