Unfortunately some of our past players still seem to have a problem with how our club is being run and are still posting negative comments on social media about the budget. In the most recent case its even more disappointing as i thought he was was a real decent guy and great servant for our club. When comments like this are made i believe they are intended as a dig at our manager but in truth they are a dig at the decent people who run the club and have always had the best interests of the club at heart, the same people who treated these ex players so well when they were here. It's now getting to the stage where i feel like calling these players out or perhaps we could ask them personally if they were to be for arguments sake going to bowl through the door all smiling and play in Elliot's testimonial in a few weeks time........
I have personally taken the time on several occasions this season and again as recently as last week to speak to the people who run our club and have control of the budget and they have assured me on every occasion that the budget is fine, in line with agreed levels and there are absolutely no issues on that front.
Could it be that our manager is not only assembling a good squad but he is also much better at recruiting players in line with the clubs budget?
But i already know the answer to that.....

Re: Disappointing Comments
shame isn’t it. In fact shame on them! Playing for Dartford is a privilege and some ex players need to understand the sacrifices people have made to get our club to where it is today. I know I speak for many others that have dug deep over the years when the club were in real need.
I have a message to those ex players Park Life is talking about, fans are for life, you were players here who we supported, certainly contributing to your wages so move on, stop staining our club and remember your credibility has gone.
It’s really sad to hear about this.

I saw that. Why does anyone feel the need. Personally for some perverted reason I see it as green eye. All these so called "true darts" All these dinner ladies that can only simply "dish it out"
Re: Disappointing Comments
I know exactly what you mean. I have been really disappointed by some of the comments from players who I really respected and admired. There have been numerous snide remarks and comments on social media since the day Steve King arrived. Whether it be clicking the "like" button on infantile insults aimed at our new manager or making unfavourable inferences about the budget. They just keep chipping away with the negativity and I've just about had enough of it. The bottom line is that the vast majority of this stuff is coming from players (or their friends and families) who have been replaced by better players. Well get over it! This football club isn't here just for a group of buddies to meet up and have a pint and a kickabout. We want the club to be the best it can be and that means constantly striving to be better.
Steve King is ambitious and wants to win and it seems to be working. We are not only winning, but we are winning in style. Some of the players who were already here have embraced the challenge and others have thrown their rattles out of the pram. I hope that gradually we can see off all the malcontents completely but in the meantime, some people are being taken in by some of this garbage and it's not helpful. As Park Life has already said, let's not forget that the budget is controlled by our board and when people like Tony Burman and Steve Irving say that financially everything is ticking along as it should be, then that's good enough for me. These guys live and breathe for Dartford FC and I trust them implicitly.
I'm gutted every time I see this stuff as I really loved these guys when they were here but ultimately the club is bigger than all of them.

Can’t deny that I’m curious to know who these envious tweeters are, don’t know whether it’s because I’m not “on” Twitter, but can’t find anything juicy, having looked at a few feeds from some possible candidates.
No matter, anyone using the internet to take a cheap and likely ill-informed swipe at the club are clearly not going to have the last laugh. Disappointing though to hear that barbed comments are coming from significant ex-players who were held in high esteem.

Where can these bitchy comments be found? They are ex players because they just ain’t good enough and probably very disruptive in changing room if not getting a game, still they might get a game down Hall place Sunday morning for a pub side, so it’s not all bad for them!

On Twitter Double L. For some disgraceful reason Lee Burns has questioned the budget. The budget is controlled by the club so why the hell does this "true dart" need to snipe. You know what it's because they cannot believe what we are witnessing. Well I've words for them, it's only going to get better. Lee burns as good a legend he believes he was, shouldn't be questioning the club in any format.
Re: Disappointing Comments
No player should question the Clubs leadership in the way that this particular ex-player did. For one, his comment was completely unfounded, 2. as has been already suggested in this thread he is actually questioning the ability of the Board to manage, 3. He is disrespecting the current manager of this club and even accusing him of mismanaging the clubs finances and 4. its no bloody business of his to even question. Completely unprofessional in my opinion!
Re: Disappointing Comments
A problem with social media and the written word generally is that it can sometimes lack intonation. I saw the tweet from Burnsie and at first thought it was a massive dig but then wondered if it was simply tongue in cheek. Of course folks had their back up and quite rightly defend the club but I still hope that the comment was just the latter.
In general, outsiders to the Club cannot hide the green-eyed monster and will snipe whenever they can. Results that SK has brought to breathe life into the Darts cannot be denied if any outsiders have a problem with that then too bad. The step change has happened and SK is clearly setting his sights on next season with the players he is bringing in - whichever division we will be playing in.

...or is it just sour grapes that Steve King got the job and not him!!??
