Re: Folkestone Home KSC February 25
Bloody cold but an enjoyable game made up for it.
First ten to fifteen minutes Folkestone played well and had a good chance to take the lead but once we got going we played some good football and ran out comfortable winners. First and fourth goals were really good and some very important minutes for a lot of the lads. We have a strong squad and competition for places in all positions, well done SK and the players.

For the first 20 minutes we were second to everything and Folkestone looked really bright. We did score a couple of very well taken goals and its true that the opposition posed few problems but there was some awfully sloppy play with mistakes all over the pitch and if we play anything like this on Saturday we will be in serious trouble.

We’ll play Whitstable Town, Phoenix Sports, or Dover Athletic/Gillingham in the semi-final. That last quarter final (Dover v Gills) is scheduled to be played 10th March.

A Darts v Dover/Gills final will generate much more admission money for the Kent F.A.

Mick, I must have been watching a different game. Yes for the first 15 I thought Folkestone played very well rather than saying we were second to everything. I do realise that many find it easier to dish out bollockings than give out bouquets. It's a normal human trait that the majority do . However after that it was very good. The opening goal was sublime. Tyrique was very good, Crooky scored his first for the club, and Elliot comes on and scores shortly after. The scoreline suggests different to your pessimism and after all Wealdstone didnt exactly get the best of scorelines last night against a Chelmsford side who I thought were very poor when I watched them recently at Dorking. Saturday beckons and I simply cant wait. COYDmickw wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 10:43 pm For the first 20 minutes we were second to everything and Folkestone looked really bright. Re: Folkestone Home KSC February 25
I wouldn't say we were second to everything in the first 20 minutes , but Folkestone started the better and were the better team in those opening stages .Smithy had to make a save from distance in the 10th minute and they could (should ) of taken the lead after 18 minutes when their striker was one on one with the goalie but tried the lob when it probably would of been easier to go round him ?But thereafter it was pretty much all one way traffic, and we dominated the rest of the game through skilful play and a noticeable physical advantage ? But take nothing away from Folkestone they battled to the end and you can see why they are flying high in their league ,and also respect to the 20 or so supporters who made the journey in what was a bloody cold evening .
Glad to see Elliott get 30 minutes , he looked sharp and scored just after coming on and will be up for Saturday no doubt ?

A good run out for the lads last night, as said Folkestone started brightly and gave it a go but it did not take long for us to take over . Some nice goals scored and was especially pleased for Billy to notch his first
