DFC Women - Kent FA Women's Cup

Post by Gary C »

Morning all, the Women's team are in the semi final of the Kent Women's FA Cup tomorrow against Gillingham. This is being played on the main pitch at 2pm, and they'd appreciate any support. It's £3 for adults, £1 concessions and kids go free.

Well done to the Darts Ladies winning 3-2 after extra time against a team two leagues above us . Thoroughly enjoyable game to watch, and a special mention to our goalkeeper for making two excellent saves towards the end when the kitchen sink was being thrown at us,but i thought that Verity in defence was outstanding today , but overall all the girls were excellent today and well worth the victory at the end .

Really was a great game to watch, and it's a massive achievement for them to reach a second final in the two seasons since they came across. A final against Aylesford beckons in due course.

Thoroughly enjoyable game yesterday. The pitch looked a bit heavy and the prospect of extra time seemed very daunting.
But sheer bloody determination got Darts through. The best, and more importantly most crucial, goal of the game scored in the first period of et was an excellent header.
The goal keeper was the player of the match for me though. She made three vital saves in the closing stages of the game. A special mention to the first of those saves which was absolutely outstanding.
I'll be hoping to go to the final wherever that may be.
Hopefully there will be a team sheet available. Unfortunately there is not a lot of information available about the squad at the moment. It would be helpful to know who's who and be able to put a name to a face.

If you're around the Champions Bar, there's a notice board with player pictures on it & their sponsors.

The final is at Chatham Town on Thursday 26th March, 7:45 kick off against Aylesford Ladies. Ticket prices are TBC
