I notice that Sam Hatton who we were looking at in the later friendlies will now be ligning up against us when we play Wealdstone.

“We let Alex leave”...

Ok, well it’s early days so I’ll reserve full judgement, but Philpott has some catching up to do following his unfortunate offside-ruled lob and subsequent penalty debacle.

The decision makes sense to me based on the fact that we do NOT have unlimited cash to have a large squad or pay players who are
[ based on previous 2 years ] considered a high injury risk !!!

Correct decision to let Alex Wall leave the Club as he is probably only a short time from receiving another injury and we could not take the risk of that happening!

Jamie Philpot has far more potential than Alex Wall but, to be fair, Jamie did not crown himself with any glory after the penalty incident BUT the penalty taker should have been appointed before the game, unprofessional on part of managerial duo of Adam and Jamie.

I would be very surprised if Jamie and Adam hadn't appointed a penalty taker especially as Delano took the previous one at Bath.

It’s not their fault it was such a poor one. At least they have us trying to play football.

We knew about those risks when we signed him so the fact that he had come through pre-season unscathed and seemed to be getting fitter, made the decision even more surprising to me. We won't know if it was the correct decision until much later in the season. It seems a bit mean to hope he breaks down injured but if he doesn't, I think his name is going to keep cropping up.

Totally agree. If Wall suffers an injury or goes on a goal drought then obviously our management will have been proven to have made a decent decision. Of course we will still need to see some goals from JamPot to make it a master stroke. Four games in is not enough to say one way or the other but by Christmas we’ll know whether is was lunacy or genius. A fine line divides, apparently.
