I listened to the Stones commentary here in the Desert, Darts fans loud and proud. I predicted a draw and we need to go again on Tuesday. SK is changing it around and he is already making us really competitive again, we’ll done Darts!

Talk about triumph over adversity. Darts had 9 players absent through a combination of sickness, injury, being cup-tied or in Liam Gordon's case, his parent club's desire for him NOT to be cup-tied. With the absolute bare bones available, Steve King was somehow able to put together a team that outplayed Maidstone for much of the game and were deserving of at least the draw. In fact it could easily have ended with a Darts win had we not squandered a few guilt edged chances in the first half and/or if the ref had given what I felt was a clear penalty for handball. All this was achieved playing a completely new system with several players out of position. Phenomenal.

There is no doubting that the players are now fully on board with the new manager as the evidence is there to see. The work-rate is through the roof and the fans can see it and are loving every moment. There were lots of great performances today but my MOTM has to be Elliot Romaine who was in a class of his own. Not only did he bag the two goals, he worked like a Trojan and gave the Stones grief all afternoon. Awesome performance from him, quite befitting of someone in a Dartford shirt by the name of Elliot. Steve King worked some magic today and despite things twice going awry, we came back because our players don't quit any more … so neither do the fans. Most importantly of all, it's bloody good fun and I can't wait to have another crack at the Stones again on Tuesday.

When Gary posted the team on here we were trying to work out who was going to play where and who on earth were the substitutes having taken into account the seven missing players which we had to assume were mostly down to injuries or illness.
Ryno with No.9 on his back and I think Pughie had No.2 plus playing with no full backs and three wingers totally confusing for the fans but we battled from the start and created a couple of chances early on but 1-0 at half time wasn't a fair reflection on the game and second half we improved got one back only to concede again shortly after but a very good equalizer made sure we are in the hat for the draw.
Great support from all the fans and listening to Steve's interview hea thought we should have won and answered all of the pre match questions that we had and to hear the Maidstone interview where their man said we were the better team all round just made the day for me.

I 99.99% agree with everything you post, Spike.. But there is a slight difference :)

I do hope every single player reads this. The effort, the passion, the will. It's simple a thank you. Totally brilliant. We are back we really are. And this is just the start. #believe

If you can't tell I'm on the wind up. I'm really not fussed about the FA trophy tbh.

Good to see Romain firing though
You would if you were a Dartford fan.
He's obviously not a Dartford fan. My money is that he's Ebbsfleet really, but his Mum doesn't like him going so far on a bus on his own.
Sure, let's go with that if that's what you want to believe!

Yes, plus Gibbons (cup-tied) and Gordon not allowed to play by his parent club equals NINE.

For what it's worth UTD, I don't think you are an Ebbsfleet troll.

A rival fan trying to subvert from within would occasionally say something positive about our club just to add credence to their cover.

Interesting formation 3 centre backs & 2 wing backs? Haysie wearing 9 and Pughy 3 in midfield. We had 2 glorious chances to go ahead first half before they took their only chance first half to lead. We use to call Danny Harris Duracell because he never stopped running we should pass that nickname onto Elliott Romain because of his work rate, he deserved his goals. Considering the players we have missing it was a good result and hopefully we can finish them off Tuesday when they might be thinking of their trip to Blackpool.
