Seems many years since playing for the Darts, I think as a strong full-back with a few goals. Googling to check my memory, I find him described as "of Maltese origin, a no-nonsense tough tackling left full back" who would have been with us in the late 70s/early 80s probably under John Still. Various manager jobs in non-league from 1986, perhaps most successful at Aldershot. Also a spell suspended from all football for aggravated misconduct.
Dartford Players of The Past
Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Jay Bacon is one of at least 14 new players brought into Romford as part of the Tamplin revolution there (he also sacked their long-term manager of about 10 years loyalty, before installing himself!). Don't know Jay, but he was on our bench in the first two FA Cup games this season.

Phil Roberts has also ended up there. Scored a screamer today.BrianL wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 10:58 am Jay Bacon is one of at least 14 new players brought into Romford as part of the Tamplin revolution there (he also sacked their long-term manager of about 10 years loyalty, before installing himself!). Glen Tamplin must be paying good wages at Romford for Cunnington and Phil Roberts to go there. I noticed they had a crowd of 500 which was 400 more than their normal attendance. I remember when Romford were a big club in the Southern League and visiting their old ground at Brooklands which I seem to recall had a speedway track around it, all long gone.

It has to be stressed that this game was free entry and a free pint!tommytollbooth wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2019 7:55 am Glen Tamplin must be paying good wages at Romford for Cunnington and Phil Roberts to go there. Like who?
