Maybe Bromley have found a way around it then? The Dulwich chairman was certainly very clear that it would not be allowed at Dulwich as things stand.

This is correct, subject to approval from the local licensing authorities. There was also a daft FA rule until a couple of years ago prohibiting the sale and drinking of alcohol outside the clubhouse at all FA Cup and Trophy matches, even the early qualifying rounds.Park Life wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 9:33 amI'm not certain but i believe at NLS level you are allowed to serve/drink on the terraces but at National League level you're not.dartLion wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 9:22 am I enjoyed my trip to the Hamlet on Saturday and was impressed by the crowd and atmosphere, no doubt enhanced by Darts fans, Peckham Pale and a win! This may have been asked before but what are the rules around serving beer for consumption on the terraces? It works in rugby, cricket and Dulwich but I’m not aware of other football grounds. Just thinking of the profit from all those pints of a very drinkable Peckham Pale sold during the game could pay a players weekly wage? Could this be done at PP? COYD
It has always made me wonder what Dulwich would do if they ever got promoted and weren't allowed to drink on the terraces as this seems a major part of the day for their supporters.
Dulwich's gross matchday takings are split roughly 50/50 between gate receipts and bars and catering. That's not all profit, it has to cover staff wages and replenishment of stock, but it would be a massive loss if alcohol could only be sold within the clubhouse before and after the game. The club chairman has been proactive in lobbying all sorts of people (other clubs, football authorities, MPs) in an effort to get the blanket ban lifted at National Division level just in case Hamlet ever get there.
