Re: TONBRIDGE ANGELS (H) SAT 11TH SEP 3PM

I think that the majority of fans have picked up on the points about the game so no need for me to comment much further on it.
However

I think the exclusion of Leonard from the off was an error, we have been scoring for fun because of the service. Anyway results went our way and so we still top which is brilliant.

I’ve known the Duke for years and he’s a proper fan. Reg has been found out, he’s out of control and not my cup of tea, well done Dukie and The Don.

No wonder the take up of the new forum is 50 not 500.
Knowing Kebabus for a long time and also The Duke & The Don I have to agree not just with their comments on the game but also alas on Reggie :x
I do know Reg and we sometime talk on the terraces and in the bars before a game and good conversation is enjoyed with both of us passing comments that are always respected but naturally not always in agreement about the game the team etc etc.
But on the forum I generally read everyone's comments bar his now and only look at them when yet more attacks are made on other posters picked up on by their postings in defence of their comments.
Might I suggest Reg for the good of the website forum and possible future posters please continue to post your opinions of games players the team and forum posters comments in a respectful way and do not result to attacking them in a malicious way.
Another suggestion which may/may not be received well by you depending on how much alcohol has been consumed (happy or angry)
I also think we have heard enough from you about Steve King because I doubt that there is a single forum poster who is not in complete agreement with you on all your comments about him as a manager and how he runs the team and the teams position and results speak for themselves.
I have signed on already for the new forum and look forward everyone's comments on it next week including yours Reggie

Re: RIP Malcolm Eames

So sorry to hear of this news of Malcolm R.I.P. :(
I have probably known Malcolm longer than most of the long time supporters because I first came across him when we both passed our 11plus and not wanting to play rugby at Dartford Grammar we both chose Dartford Tech in Wilmington for football.
In our first two years we both played football for the school and also our East House team with Malcolm in the centre forward position and me on the right wing.
We started off in the A stream at school 1A but in the years that followed I quickly went to 2B 3C 4C and left school at 15 for an apprenticeship but Malcolm stayed in the A stream right through to the sixth form and was a prefect and eventually head boy and to echo The Dukes comment
a real Darts fan and actually a clever bloke

I lost touch after school days and it came as a surprise when I walked into the bar at the ground years later and Mickey Austin said I have got someone who wants to see you and there was Malcolm sitting there a glass of beer in his hand and instant recognition between us.
Thanks also to the 5th Searcher who's comments
Two things I will never forget about Malcolm both happened at away games and that was when he helped stretcher a player off the pitch only to drop the stretcher with the injured player still on it.
The other was when he offered Pork Pies round the bar at Wingate & Finchley FC who happened to be a Jewish club
I to remember these incidents magic moments which sum up the character a good Darts fan who will be missed not only for his support and I'm sure now watching from above but also for the takings over the bar unless he knows away around that as well ;)

Re: Eastbourne Borough (H) Mon 30th Aug 3pm

As everyone else appears to have mentioned we could have had 4 or 5 goals in the first half but just a bit unlucky however conceding that very early goal in the second half put us on the back foot and tending to lump the ball until we settled down and scored the third goal.
With the defence playing well in all four games and two of the goals conceded being from unusual mistakes and 11 goals being scored by us coming from various players I am looking forward to the Bath game.
With Bath having to recover from yesterdays result and wanting to prove they are up for a game I would take a 1-0 win :) but who knows what we will produce on the day as long as we pick up 3 points.

Played okay but if Dullish had put away their chances we’d have been buried. Great team effort in defence. If we’re winning games like this, it’s looking good. Great day out and the Dullish mob were good hosts.
I have to agree Dulwich had plenty of chances but most shots were either closer to the corner flag or out of the ground and our defence played well and covered anything that could have been dangerous with the keeper having a fairly quiet day.
Far fewer stalls and dogs to worry about and generally Dulwich were good hosts on the day and just security asking me to open my jacket at the turnstile so they the could inspect the bulge under my jacket which was just the dozen sausage rolls for The Duke The 5th Searcher and myself
My M.O.M. to Tom Bonner but judging from the scores it could be any one of them in defence.
A good win keeping us top and looking forward to Monday's game

No amount of thanks would ever be enough to show our appreciation of your efforts over the many years that the website has been in existence and I just hope that someone with I.T. experience and sense will take up your very generous offer.
May I offer my personal thanks to you Gary

Re: Sloff (H) 21st August 2021 3 P.M

Can only confirm the 5th's post as we came over the QE2bridge we were scheduled for a 12.30 to arrive back home so plenty of time to make the game.
We knew about the A2 closure so thought we had it beat when going out through Southfleet only to find the lane blocked by a lorry so diverted around other country lanes and the traffic in both directions terrible and stuck behind an ambulance we had to stop start as they struggled to get past each car going in the opposite direction.
Arrived 2.30pm home so having passed three lanes of traffic on the A2 stuck from the Cobham Services to Bluewater Dartford bound and the likelihood of the Gravesend road being a nightmare I have had to miss the game

I wish all the fans a safe journey and hope that the team puts on a good performance that we are all expecting and I'm sure they will
The 5th Searcher (my son) and myself cannot make the game as we are on holiday in Great Yarmouth for a week and there is no way that we can sneak out away from the wives and grandchildren. :( ;) :D

Have a guess which sauve, intelligent, generous , good looking {?} pensioner who hails from Maidstone had the winning 50 50 ticket today !!!
TrevB is such a jammy git
Don as The 5th pointed out I hail from Stone just by Brent school so only a short walk to Watling Street ground via the alley way and path round the school playing fields and into the bottom entrance to the turnstile hence a Darts fan.
Unlike that certain person who put the original post on and lives in Maidstone and will no doubt be keeping quiet about the win until I tell Helen about it so I hope you treated her to a meal out last night. :o
Well done Dukey ;)

Re: Gillingham Friendly Called Off - Now v Sittingbourne

Firstly a big thankyou to Sittingbourne's manager and players for agreeing to make the match possible at such short notice
A second good warm up game with plenty of goals and a chance to meet up with more fans and enjoy the atmosphere of being back at live football.
Struggling to remember names or identify players at the moment but another game to come against Charlton will help I'm sure

Well, just a few hours to the release of our fixtures for 2021/22. The long wait will soon be over. I must say I can't wait. It will be good to see the old faces on the half way line again and to find out just how good the squad is.
Barry
I have to agree looking forward to attending a live match and watching the Darts and hopefully seeing an even better squad with these new players.
With all this time on your hands did you get that old guitar out of the closet and get practicing, you me and Brian might just make a come back
