Full marks to your ground staff - top notch work to get the game on. Sorry not to be travelling tonight but there's some snow in the forecast, and the journey home might have been no fun (I know Kingy has the same journey but his motor is bigger than mine...)
Best of luck to both sides and best wishes to you all.

Re: Eastbourne Borough Away 5th Dec 2020
Match highlights (longer than the League clips) from EBFC. This is from our club camera - on the opposite side of the ground, in case you're feeling disorientated - but it's a bit better weather-protected. Watching the highlights back, I'm honest enough to say that your boys could well have won that. Couple of first half chances, and some almighty scrambles in the second half. Hey ho. All the best.

Re: Eastbourne Borough Away 5th Dec 2020
I must admit I thought Darts would be stronger. After the (superb) equaliser, and with the gale behind you, you should have been in total control but your balls forward and into the box seemed a bit uncontrolled and rash. I think you maybe let Borough off the hook. Your substitutions surprised me slightly, and actually lost you some momentum. Dartford play more football than Dorking, and far more than St Albans. I'd say the title will go to one of those three although I've not seen Havant.
Eastbourne however are no mugs this season and will be top half. Can't take any result for granted this season, witness Bath today.
Sorry that I called your scorer wrongly - I thought it was Jacob but our announcer - closer to the action and on other side of the pitch - called it Dickson. And just as that substitution was made, my team sheet - literally - blew away, so I guessed! Welcome to the Eastbourne micro climate...
(Anyway I'll leave you in peace. Thanks for today and see you in February. Very best wishes.)

Re: We might be going back to watch football
There will be a full live stream from Eastbourne on Saturday. Further details will be on the Borough club website. We are using a company InstantReplay whom we've worked with successfully for our last two Borough home games. It comes with utterly unbiased even-handed commentary, but you are welcome to mute me...Gin and vomit wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 9:43 pm In the tiers where fans are allowed in, are the clubs allowed to stream the games still?

The game itself is all-ticket and tickets have to be purchased in advance - if any Darts think they might qualify, the purchase link is also on the Borough website. But be aware you'll be asked to bring proof of address (and I don't think an AirB&B on Eastbourne seafront qualifies...) In fairness these are National League directives and I'm sure they will apply in reverse for games at Princes Park.
Best wishes from the Costa Geriatrica

Re: Darts v Eastbourne Feb 22
Not sour grapes, I promise. I've already exchanged views with Kingy, who is a friend of twenty years and remains so. But, having watched the whole video, a couple of contentious decisions -
Greg Luer spends his afternoons lurking on touchlines a few inches onside, waiting for balls like that one. The video isn't quite conclusive but he was almost certainly not offside when the pass was played.
Darren McQueen and Franklin Domi tangled on the touchline, McQueen did flick out at Domi, more a trip than a kick. Not a red card. Arguably a yellow but the referee probably didn't see it.
The throw-in, late on at 1-2, from West to Luer was not touched by any other player. It was a simple error by the linesman, who apologised afterwards. We'd be pushing our luck to claim that it cost Eastbourne an equaliser, but it certainly curtailed a scoring chance.
And (before I put my tin hat on and retreat) that was the softest penalty of the season - if a penalty at all. A yard inside the area, going nowhere, minimal contact and no intent to foul. Gee.
See you next season, unless you storm to promotion and/or we fail to scrape another dozen points together. Neither is certain. All good wishes.

Re: Darts v Eastbourne Feb 22
Well, there's struggling and struggling. Eastbourne are unbeaten in National South since Boxing Day - eight games - but six of those have been draws. They are not full of stars but they are capable of digging deep. With the options at SK's disposal I'd make you favourites, but don't rule out another draw...Ozymandias wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 9:42 am This will not be easy, even with Eastbourne struggling as they are. We have to knuckle down for every game. We are now becoming the team to beat.

Re: Darts away to Eastbourne Sat November 2
Kind words, Matt, thanks for that from us at Eastbourne. (Not sure about the sensible bit, my wife said I was insane even going out of the front door in that deluge...) I think subconsciously we make visitors welcome as we know they've had a lousy journey on Sussex transport routes, and when you do get here it's either blowin' a houlie or occasionally dense fog...
Anyway we're all as daft as each other and we quite like you lot. Good luck for the season. Whatever happens with Kingy, you'll enjoy the ride!
