Not quite sure how, thought we were second best and not clinical enough. Disappointing Not sure why Husin got hooked, he was my MOTM by a long shot.
We was 4 points clear 😄
Just drop with the "top of the league" rubbish

Hungerford 1 game in hand
Dorking 2 games in hand
St Albans 3 games in hand

All will go above us with 1 win. We've not played well for the most part and scraped results. We're heading for a bang average playoff push if things don't change
It’s a fair point with the games in hand but it’s always better to be ahead with points in the bag than behind with games in hand which can go either way and are always midweek and/or bunched up.
I’m not disillusioned here; we obvs would not be top without the extra games played, but it means nothing until their games in hand are converted into points!

That said, disappointing result and worrying that we’ve lost at home to two early title rivals. Didn’t manage to watch the game so can’t comment on anything that happened. We go again on Saturday!

Re: Hampton & Richmond (a) Sat 10th Oct 3pm

Very boring 90 minutes. Felt like we could have done with Sheringham off the bench towards the end for a bit more presence up front in the air.

Encouraging defensive performance though and I’ll take a point away to a decent side.

Re: Weymouth - Promotion Final - 1pm Saturday

Tough one to take. Feel like we’d have gone on on to win if the game had gone to extra time but that’s how it was.

King and the lads did an incredible job to get this far. Onwards and upwards!

Ajaxman DFC wrote: Tue Jul 28, 2020 11:08 am Interesting reading through the comments on Weymouth's forum during our game with Havant. They were delighted when Havant went down to 10 men in the hope they would be facing a weakened side, due to suspensions, the following week.
Now they are relieved not to be facing Doswell's side at all and are already planning for their trip to Hartlepool next season.
Really?
You can't blame them for preferring a final against us; they'll be at home whereas they'd have been away to Havant. Perhaps those individuals haven't seen the form table! Better that they give it the big 'un though. It sets them up for a bigger embarrassment! I think most have us have been quietly confident going into the playoffs that we could pull off an 'upset', but they don't need to know that haha!

Re: Chelmsford City (H) Saturday 14th March

Great win and great performance today! I thought we’d have our work cut out with their keeper but goals ended up coming very easily. Chelmsford’s multitude of fouls looked to be more down to poor discipline rather than malice: shows with how they defended the second goal. Their best spell was just after the restart... lasted about three minutes.

Whole team were on top form but Billy Crook gets my MoTM vote: controlled midfield before he went off. Hopefully he won’t be out for long!

Great atmosphere again. The young lads behind the goal bring a lot of energy which is good to see. Really stupid of one to throw a bottle at their keeper but doubt they’ll do it again after the bollocking they got from those nearby. Only dampener on an otherwise top afternoon!

Two even bigger games coming up now! (Providing they don’t get postponed) Six points let’s do it!

Re: Chelmsford City (H) Saturday 14th March

According to local news in Notts and Hartlepool, the National League are meeting today to discuss whether to postpone as well. If they don’t, it could be good for non-league attendance!

Re: Wealdstone home Saturday 29th February

Thought we we just about on top for most of Saturday’s game, but Wealdstone had more clear cut chances. I was trusting Luke to put it away in the last minute but agree that we wouldn’t have been complaining if it was the other way around!

As much as I hate to say it, I don’t agree as some are saying that we’re favourites for the playoffs... yet.
Given some of the long away trips we’d be facing, we’d have a challenge winning three on the trot, even with our current form. 10 games left to close down that 8-10 point gap on the teams above so we can at least get a home quarter final. Definitely doable with Bath and Weymouth at home still to come!

Re: Slough Town away January 18

Only the third game I’ve managed to make this season. Thought we were the better team in the opening 30 minutes: pressing and passing well. We just got caught on the ball in midfield a few times, one time which led to their goal (which, yes, was a fumble from Sesay but by no means a simple save given how much it was swerving mid-air!)
Never looked at our best after the goal, and maybe could have done more with the half-chances we had, but I agree that we struggled to provide them to the guys up front.

Altogether not a terrible performance but just didn’t go our way. Let’s bounce back next week!

What a result! First clean sheet as well! Did a little dance when I saw the FT score at work.

Great to hear the result when I finished work today! One step in the right direction!
Anybody know why Cunnington went off at half time? Injury or just resting for Monday?
