It’s a shame the official stats aren’t available. I reckon out of the goals we have scored with Ryan playing, he has scored or set up between 1/3 and 1/2.
Probably should have been 3/4 eh Kentc? And he should have mowed the pitch before, made the half time teas and washed the kit. Lazy git.

Re: Retained/Released players list
Oh dear oh dear. This guy. All he does is rip apart anything that’s good. Just look how many goals Ryan sets up. Posts like this only show your ignorance, and discredits any opinion you may choose to view. The facts are, Ryan sets goals up for fun. He’s not a premier league player, not every cross will be spot on and he is not box to box otherwise he would be in the PL. it doesn’t matter that I happen to have a high opinion of Ryan, the FACTS prove we have a far better creative team with him than without.Kentc wrote:like to understand why Ryno is retained. I hope the managers explain why. The others are a no brainier and really happy to have them. I can’t stand laziness. Not good enough for concord in the playoff places but good enough for us.
The only reason he’s here is because he is mr popular and his RH7 status.
This club will not move forward until we start signing people on what they perform on the pitch not how popular they are.

Re: 19/20 Season
I think 11th was OK. What I don’t think was ok was the awful player recruitment situation, starting with allowing Hayes to go and getting Wall in only to let him go again. There has been no sign of building for the future. The football has been awful and the lack of team spirit far too evident. If I’m gonna hand over dosh and sacrifice time spent with family for freezing my bits off watching my team, the least I expect is a bit of effort from the players.
What is worse than keeping these two in position is giving them even more of our money to piss up the wall, or indeed piss off the Wall.
I hope for a massive turnaround, where there’s hope...
There’s always Plan B come Christmas

This season was off the back of one of the most successful seasons in the club’s history.
I read this about getting someone in with no links to the club. Why? I don’t care whether a manager has links or not as long as they are the right person to get us competitive again by correct player recruitment and good coaching.
I hope there is a manager change and now the board have learned a lesson in recruitment themselves (after all they haven’t been burdened with this task for many years before) I hope they will be much more selective and carefully choose a better fit for the club and our circumstances.

Re: Oxford
In line with TB? I assume you mean the most recent of his spells? He took over when relegation was threatening. He took his time over getting the right players in, that were not only good players but also a good fit for the club. We had 300 fans and not a pot to piss in. I’m sorry there is no parallel in what has happened this season and what happened when TB took over from Tommy Sampson.
After the treatment from many supporters in TB’s last season I am convinced that’s what pushed him into his decision of giving it up. It was a fantastic season one of our best in the league in history but our manager was driven out and I will struggle to forgive those with blood on their hands. Look what you’ve done.

Re: Truro City Vs Dartford FC
Perhaps our current management team could follow TB’s example and ‘lose interest’ and then maybe we will somehow end up having a fantastic season like we did last season.
Ridiculous thing to say.

I could have written exactly these words. Thank you.marmite wrote:I still don't get where people are coming from when they say last year was a complete shambles and change was needed? Dartford are a sixth division team, how many times in their hundred plus year history has it been fifth division or above? Last year they scored comfortably more goals than anyone in the league and no team won more games or got more points, they even had a good cup run and only a soppy league rule and a fix meant they didn't go up. Look at the history, last year was very good - if you live another quarter of a century you'll be able to count on one hand better seasons I sadly suspect, maybe one finger - it won't get any easier either. Madness, utter madness. We get what we deserve, as a whole, the minority have made sure of that.

Re: Oxford City (A) FA Cup - 5th October 18
We had a wonderful season last season despite amazingly many supporters not being onside and constantly criticising. In fact in the history of the club we have only spent 6 seasons in the top flight of non league and under Tony we had three. Through such a successful period I’m not sure how many people truly appreciated what was being achieved before our very eyes. If you did openly, you were in the rose tinted glasses brigade.
I suspect if the noise coming from supporters was a different tone then Tony would have kept going. I just think he may have felt unappreciated and thought ‘what’s the point?’
Now I don’t like the phrase if it ain’t broke don’t fix it because you have to be looking to constantly improve. But it certainly wasn’t broke and we didn’t just fix it we did an Edwin Collins and ripped it up and started again.
We didn’t just lose a successful manager, we lost our talisman in Hayes, and other long servers like Harris, players who would always give the heart and soul because they were part of Dartford FC. Most of these players we have now are not part of the club in the same way as those guys. We have had a revolution when we needed evolution.
I’m not sure if Tony would have any of it but my solution is to return to Plan B and let these joint managers go before they damage the club and their careers any further.
It is not just the results it is the player recruitment, the apparent lack of tactics and team structure and most of all the lack of heart.
It’s time for courage, it’s time for Plan B.

Do you reckon we will beat the record for number of players used in a season achieved during the Halcyon days of Tommy Sampson? That record stands as 1,567 players, we are well on our way. In those days we were totally useless but you could never fault the effort.

Re: Hungerford Town (A) - 25th August
You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.
It’s no surprise to me that we are struggling to fashion chances seeing for the last 11 or 12 years creativity has rested on the shoulders of one man; Ryan Hayes. So we let him go, then you have to replace that creativity. I know you can’t replace Ryan, he is certainly one in a million in the non league game but do any of the new players offer any creativity?
I only watched the Hemel game and I have to say the team were totally useless. No connection between players, no sign of a plan to move the ball forward. TB ‘s style of booting into the channels and chasing it may not have been everyone’s idea of good football. At least it was a way of getting the ball forward and everyone on the team knew what their role was in achieving it.
I was surprised given the reasonable record of these joint managers with limited resources, that our team is so hapless. It was a bit unfortunate that Flanners seems to put the blame at the new players’ doors, I think the fact he is deflecting responsibility is not a good sign. He has publicly created a them and us between management and players. I don’t think TB would have done that. In fact I don’t think TB would do a lot of what’s been going on this last 2 months.
I’m struggling to move on clearly. I want to be encouraged by improvement before I get back in the boat.
