It is disappointing and indeed disrespectful to Gary that this forum should end with a pathetic my dad's bigger than your dad type of argument. I bet anyone from another club reading this must be having a good laugh at our expense. Gary should be ready for his lap of honour soaking up and acknowledging the applause from the admiring and grateful crowd. Then 180 should emerge from the tunnel turn to all corners and accept all the good wishes for his time in charge. Let's call a halt and let Gary bow out in peace and quiet with my and I'm sure many others gratitude for all he has done, and doubtless will continue to do for DFC. Thanks very much Gary.
I haven't decided about joining the new forum or not. The way this forum has ended means I am a free agent and indeed the forums of Welling and Maidstone are all already making tentative offers. Ebbsfleet require everyone to register and then log on every visit, I can't be doing with that I'm free to air. Good luck everyone, especially to 180, it will be interesting to see how the new forum goes, well I hope.

Re: TONBRIDGE ANGELS (H) SAT 11TH SEP 3PM
Back to the football. Tonbridge put in a really good team effort yesterday, they used so much energy in the first half I thought they would run out of steam. For a short period in the second I thought they had and seemed ready for the taking, but they got their second wind and finished strongly. They were not overly defensive played some good football and scored a very good goal. As for the Darts, below their best had some spells of really good play, forced some good saves by the 'keeper but couldn't put together constant pressure that may have worn the Angels down, a draw seems about fair to me. Didn't really have a problem with the ref regarding decisions but the lengthy instructions at free kicks was frustrating and rather unnecessary as I thought all the guff about arm positions and handball etc were conveyed to teams in the dressing room before ko. As for the 'pen.' I was side on so had no idea but did notice that was has become quite a vociferous Darts team didn't seem to appeal. Hopefully the highlights will clear it all up.

40 years since Only Fools and Horses started that outfit makes a good tribute to Del Boy and Grandad.

Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Jay May scored the Ashford goal. The game sums good old Ryan from absolute brilliance to Mr Bean level, I think it was part of why he was so popular, just what were going to get. Fortunately the good far outweighed the bad and he provided a lot of entertainment and excitement over the years. One of my very favourite Darts players over the years and although I appreciate people do have different views I just couldn't understand them. On the Kent Football website there is a report on last night's cup tie with a very good interview with Ryan. Sounds an entertaining and eventful encounter.

Best wishes to Noor, hopefully a game of football will give a little release at this awful time and that his family and friends are all safe.

Essence of Dartford
Article on Kent Online about a couple producing perfumes giving the aromas of different regions in Kent. Nothing representing Dartford, but I wouldn't mind a Waft of Watling Street, a delicate blend of deep heat, white oils liniment and sweat with just a hint of germolene anddelicate undertones of bovril. P. P. doesn't seem to have that pervasive smell, perhaps the modern players cancel those old odours out with all their aftershaves and body sprays. I wonder if there could be a perfume in the future that captures the heart and soul of Dartford.

Re: St Albans (A) Sat 14th August 2021
Any regular football supporter accepts they will hear bad language, be naive not to, but there are limits and context. As for players and staff they are subjected to sanctions for foul and abusive language, yellow cards, red cards and fines. Hearing the odd swear word from on the field isn't that bad, but there are some occasions when players keep up a loud constant barrage of bad language. Obviously people have different views on the use of and what is considered bad language but it's the relentlessness of it at times which I find rather depressing.

Re: St Albans (A) Sat 14th August 2021
What Tottenham do is up to them, but maybe if Authorities handed out some swingeing fines maybe they would. There was a comment on one of the friendly match threads about someone persistently swearing and it being reported to a steward who said there was nothing thy could do about it. In view of the Board's statement perhaps the stewards could be told there is something they can do about it.

Re: Dartford Players of The Past
I forgot another ex Dart scored yesterday, Tom Bender. For the life of me I can't remember who it was against.
