Re: RIP Malcolm Eames
This bloody virus has meant that we haven’t seen many supporters for so long now and it’s only when you read sad news like this that you realise some of these long serving supporters won’t ever be back. Love the stories from the 5th. God bless you, Malcolm. Let’s hope the boys can give us a bloody good season as a suitable tribute to the many Dartford fans that have passed on in last 18 months or so.

Despite the occasional poster disagreements the forum users generally conduct themselves in an appropriate fashion. At the end of the day we don’t always agree but we want to have the opportunity to express our views. We do it all the time on the terraces during a match. I think this season is as good a time as any for you to take this on, 180; the football is top notch a view I’m certain is shared by everyone… unless someone wants to disagree?

Hopefully the Highways agency hasn’t decided to divert every car off the A2 through the outlying suburbs of Dartford today so we can ensure maximum support for the match. I wouldn’t want anyone to be deprived of witnessing the quality football on display at Princes Park these days. With Ebbsfleet and Maidstone both maintaining 100% records it could be an exciting season for certain Kent clubs in the NLS.

The best squad of players we’ve had for probably 10 years. Come the end of the season I’ll be happy to review that and extend to whatever season befits our eventual success. Quality all over the place. Fantastic entertainment will be the norm this season, folks!

And I remember a very good John Still team during the 80s winning the Southern League and then achieving our best ever Conference finish of third. What a player that Terry Sullivan was. Also not forgetting TBs team that won the Isthmian League by a country mile with six games to spare. Never saw the 73-74 team so can’t comment on its excellence…Kebabus wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 4:18 pm We have been spoilt over the years with some quality squads, but don’t ever forget the Taylor era, we were superb for a while without crossing the line to the Promised Land. I believe we have the resources and management team to achieve greatness. Need to do it though, time to deliver without a penalty shootout. Let’s go Dartford, let’s go!

It’ll be a shame when the owner decides to recover his losses and sell Stonehenge Road for redevelopment as some swanky Middle Eastern penthouse flats overlooking the Discount Builders’ yard. Still, I’m sure we’ll be happy to repay the favour from the 90s and let them rent PP for an extortionate sum so they can maintain a team in the Kent League.

Really sad news. Pat refereed a number of Dartford Supporters FC matches in the North Kent Sunday League which is where I first meet him and later watching the Darts at Watling Street. Condolences to all his family. This bloody virus continues to reek havoc.

Re: National League North & South suspended for two weeks
Well said, Dave.Dave T wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 3:03 pm Steve came across very well and put across the club's point of view very reasonably and clearly.
In a way, you can hardly blame the government for not making the next payment as a grant to the league. The way in which the league distributed the last £10million grant was shameful and unfair, protecting the interests of the clubs represented on the NL Board. The NL Board clearly cannot be trusted by their own member clubs now, so why should the government trust them with public money?
The doubly sad thing is now that it appears impossible for the NLS and NLN season to be completed; meaning that there cannot be promotion and relegation. Therefore the very clubs who looked after themselves with the funding allocation (like Dover for example) will now escape relegation too!
To cap it all Brian Barwick, the disgraced NL chairman who oversaw the allegedly fraudulent distribution of the grant, then jumped ship, picked up an OBE for his efforts!
The National League is a complete shambles and a total disgrace.

Re: National League North & South suspended for two weeks
If the funding is received as a grant the season should continue to its natural conclusion. Perhaps those clubs that suddenly have a problem with playing out their remaining fixtures should apply for admission to their local Sunday morning clogger leagues, where their ilk will be readily accepted along with the Dog and Duck?

Re: £10m government support package
I would imagine most teams in the bottom half of the table will be happy to end the season now. And the chances are a good number of those in the top half won’t exactly be clamouring for the season to continue if they can save a few bob for next season. I’d be surprised if a majority of clubs vote for the season to continue. The Don wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 10:36 am https://www.altrinchamfc.com/news/natio ... age-update
Option 3 is looking bleak, guess a lot of sides not looking for promotion will fancy that!
