I thought I would add this on hear in case people didn't know. Couldn't see it mentioned on the main website. May not exactly be first team news, but thought it may be missed otherwise.

I actually think this is quite an embarrassing gesture by the club??
Name a stand, or part of the ground after the man yes.
He was Mr Dartford, but to name a staff kickaround game after him is unbelievable, & sort of sums the club we all care for at the moment up!!??

Not really sure what you’re aiming to achieve with this comment.
I’m sure the club will do something to honour Dave at a later point next season.
The staff game is arranged by Jay, adding Dave’s name to it was a gesture made by Jay as one of the many marks of respect people want to pay to Dave.
Absolutely no need to start an issue regarding this.

I think M1S was probably thinking that THIS tribute was the ONLY thing to remember Dave by. If so, he has a point. imho. But I’m confident there’ll be something more appropriate in the future. Whether the club communicate that to us is a massively different matter.

I agree M1 that the board have made errors and there are undoubtedly things that need changing, but rebranding of this game in honour of Dave was well intentioned and is nothing more than a gesture of respect that isn't harming anyone. I have no doubt the club will do something more to honour Dave, and your disappointing "sort of sums the club up" comment is premature at best and feels like a bit of a cheap shot in my opinion.
