From the Hashtag Away thread, a brainstorming suggestion to emulate Hashtag's live streaming IMHO, would be counter - productive, with a wrong direction.
Maximum Away Games' Support, is Crucial. Hence, DFCSA's doing its best to encourage this, diligently organising the cheapest possible Away Travel, for the active enjoyment of as many members and non - members, as is possible. At least, Live Radio Commentary's usually available to those who can't travel.
Live streaming in non - league, was needed, from empty stadia, during Covid times. Not now!
After all, our players can't hear any armchair chants, cheers and support, if we all decide to be 'stay at home / armchair members'!

It does however provide a good source of income. You have to pay to be a member of the channel to access their livestreams (All home, non 3pm Saturday games) and that is £4.99
I'm not sure how many viewers they get per stream on average but I'd imagine with their following it is a large enough amount to justify doing it

Mick if you are talking about my comments that I posted last week regarding the excellent Hashtag footage and their membership where I stated about possibly linking it with the DFCSA etc then I wasn’t actually talking directly about the away games, I was talking more about the home games and people having a membership to watch the excellent highlites from home games as well.Ring of fire wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 4:09 pm From the Hashtag Away thread, a brainstorming suggestion to emulate Hashtag's live streaming IMHO, would be counter - productive, with a wrong direction.

The problem is not everyone is able to attend home games and especially the away games BUT would still be interested in watching the games via stream. It could be due to ill health, work or lack of finances that some can’t attend or travel BUT if they was able to watch from home or online then I think some would and they would still be helping the club financially in some small way.
As I mentioned previously I don’t know exactly what’s involved or what the costs are BUT surely if a little club like Hashtag can offer such quality coverage to their few fans which is a smaller fan base than ours then surely DFC can offer similar excellent footage.

Happy to have balanced discussions for guided decisions, on Encouraging and Financing Away Travel and Support. This along with Boosting Home Crowds, Maximising the Use of Match Day Facilities, towards Club Sustenance, while helping those who can't be there.

Think you're asking way too much here. Never known such a poor club website in all my life!Paulcanary wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 6:40 pm I’d like to have a decent official website first ! Is that asking too much![]()
Content is regularly out-of-date, low quality and sometimes doesn't even cover news that we are seeing covered by others either on this forum or via external news providers - something that I think is extremely poor. Also - don't get me started on how horrible it is to navigate!
Whatever happened to the "communications manager" the club brought in? Not sure I've seen anything that shows that role is working?

The official site is a total disgrace imho - how we could ever hope for Hashtag quality highlights ?!? That would be amazing - we need a great official website again to help get people interested and a better team would help too !
Some of the Isthmian South East websites put ours to shame
Anyway - I’ll take 3 points Saturday first

The Thanet derby game between Margate and Ramsgate on Boxing Day is a complete sell out (2,500) and there are no tickets left. I doubt whether we will get half of that attendance against Cray Wanderers. Maybe we will next year against Ebbsfleet (fingers crossed).

Ya gotta applaud both those clubs for that. It’ll be an amazing atmosphere. We’d be the same if we had the noisy neighbours. The Futures White wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 11:48 am The Thanet derby game between Margate and Ramsgate on Boxing Day is a complete sell out (2,500) and there are no tickets left. Sittingbourne away to Southend in the Trophy. A nice little earner for the Brickies but maybe a step too far.
