Presumably the missing ‘first teamers’ didn’t want to offer their services?
There are a few more here apparently??

Nine goals for a fiver. Excellent value for money.

Good to see the academy lads are being taught to play in the right way. Despite conceding six their heads didn’t drop and they constantly looked to play positive attacking football. Defensive naivety cost them today, but that only improves with time and experience.

Enjoyable game against decent opponents and a real tough test for our academy lads. What was encouraging was the fact that our boys heads never dropped and they grew stronger towards the end of the game. This experience won't have done them any harm.

An earlier poster said " Hopefully doesnt destroy the Academy lads confidence especially in defence " , a fair point BUT answered in two more recent posts which clearly shows that the Academy lads rose to the occasion and enjoyed the opportunity and no heads dropped which coming through a Dartford Academy we fans would expect , ONLY journeymen semi pros there for the pay packet fall into the couldnt care less bracket !!

Interesting that outside the ones we hope will stay that Maloney and Smith opted to play in the game , both have potential and just perhaps Ade sees a future for them , as for the ones who didnt play , hope they are on their bikes ?????

Yes it's pleasing to see that no heads dropped from our youngsters, can only be good for the future if they are brought into the senior team. Also backed up from 3 MOTM votes for the keeper despite conceding 6, that's also a positive.
