I think TB has been looking to add players anyway as the squad is low on numbers, unfortunately (or i suppose fortunately) it coincided with Sam's injury.

Providing he is quality then I hope he stays longer cause Sam has had no competition for the left back spot all season and has become all a bit too comfortable and he has not develped on from last season

Tony clearly states that Sam is out injured so he had to bring additional cover in !!
