Just looking around and dodging the crumbling terraces at PVR makes you certainly appreciate what we have at PP. On a side note, does anyone know why the E&B bar was closed yesterday?

Have to give MOTM to Mark Goldberg for getting rid of SK
I overheard someone yesterday who said that Welling have stopped E&B from opening their bar when Welling are playing to try to increase their own revenue. When you are only averaging around 400 supporters for home you can kind of understand it. In previous years I would have expected a crowd of at least 1800 for a match against Dartford and to only manage just over a 1000 just shows how bad things are for Welling.
The couple that own the bar have moved on and sold it to someone else, that’s why the bar wasn’t open yesterday we was told.

Breathtaking football yesterday. At times was easily league one standard. Continue to be thoroughly impressed by Jernande Meade. I thought he, Husin and Azeez were the best of a sublime bunch.
Bit annoying we weren’t the only six nil, but slightly better result than Eastbourne since we were away.
Was trying to remember similar score lines after the final whistle, was Chipstead a 0-6 win?

Not true E&B bar is closed due to licensing issues.

Love Steve's attitude that at 3-0 half time, a lot of teams would have switched off comfortable ans seen out the game. He wanted more goals and was annoyed that we didn't get more than six. Lovely. :D

Just amazing how good we look just now. I've had good and bad days at Welling and never been a fan of theirs, but it's sad to see the damage they are suffering- their fans deserve better.
But for us that was one to treasure. A winner at the end of a hard fought match is always a better scenario but turning on the style in a derby is a great feeling, especially when you score six

Feet on the ground - there are much tougher teams to beat out there, but playing like that we'll take some stopping.

I don’t think this is the only ‘six’ we’re gonna get this season. After that, some are gonna be crapping themselves. The sheer sight of Ade up front is enough to make knees wobble!

We was having that conversation ourselves during the match as the scoreboard was ticking over. In terms of league matches, I remember a midweek trip to Bedworth when we ran out 6-0 winners with Mark Keen grabbing four. And then there was a 7-0 home win over Redditch with both these victories during Peter Taylor’s immensely entertaining period at the helm. Rather ironic that Peter was there yesterday mulling over the poisoned chalice that is managing Welling United with Mark Goldberg overseeing your every move!

A 14-2 final score wouldn’t have been an unfair reflection on the chances created by both sides. That was mighty fine fare served up by the Darts, although I was a little bemused when the reporter at the match for the Non League Paper gave it a 3 star entertainment rating out of 5. Presumably he prefers stamp collecting as his Saturday afternoon pastime?

Ok we was told this by the Welling operations manager, and the bar was owned by a guy called Alex or Arron can’t remember the name.

Personally I am very happy to put them in their place and don't have much empathy for them .It was not that long ago they were sneering down their noses at us thinking they were such a bigger club . Remember when they wanted Jamie Day and did not see why they should pay the likes of us for his services even though he was under contract with is . They announced his signing b4 even making any contact with us and accused us of holding him back from a big step up in his career because we demand a fee ! Screw em !

Has there even been anything like a 6-0 score-line (either way) in matches between Dartford and Welling in the past?

As for the reporter from the Non League Paper - perhaps he was making a score of 3 on the basis that the match was so one-sided it was difficult to give points for entertainment for a contest.......

Exactly what I was going to say but Taunton beat me to it. For the neutral there was no excitement as a contest.
I am so enjoying this football orchestrated by SK, and to think he was in Welling's hands just two seasons ago, at least we have something to thank Goldberg for. But like others, I don't like to see local rivals fall away.
The more I see of Jernaide Meade the more I admire his awareness, running, skills and style of play, it's always the goalscorers that grab the attention and headlines, but for me Jernaide is my current unsung hero.
Roll on Saturday, COYD

Skip, Mikey and Taunton Dart I’ve just done some digging and the 6-0 win was…
Our biggest score v Welling (it beat the 4-0 at home on 31/12/83 and 4-0 away on 1/1/20)
Our biggest away win since the 6-0 v Clevedon in 1997. That Chipstead game was 6-1.
Our biggest win home or away since the 7-1 v Oxford City on 19.8.17 when Warren Mfula scored 4

One thing I was thinking was is Azeez’s start as a Dartford player been better than Cody McDonald’s? Not sure any one else is up there in terms of goals from their opening games for the club since Princes Park opened. I’m sure some supporters will remember a few names pre Princes Park!

Azeez 8 (7+1 apps) games & 9 goals (6 league, 3 cup)

Looking at my online archives

McDonald 20 (17+3 apps) & 19 goals (12 league, 7 cup) and after his first 8 apps = 12 goals

Cheers Rick. Let’s hope we keep Azeez for a lot longer and no one comes sniffing! Although saying that I was well chuffed for Cody when he earned his big move and with those numbers he deserved it.

Cheers Stu, I had been looking over 'PAM' and noted most games against welling were KSC, as we made our way back up the pyramid. What dedicated staff and fans we have to thank for our position today. Recall going to Deal, our first game back after reforming, 1993-1994 was when my love affair really started (except for a couple of watling street games prior). This is going to be an enjoyable season of football, but as others have said the team will need to keep on pushing themselves, but we "keep the faith" in Kingy and co.

I'm not one to gloat over any club going belly up or getting demoted/relegated.
I remember where I was when I heard that DFC met it's demise. My heart sank into my belly. I think I was at Park View as we didn't have a ground and then we didn't have a team.
Wouldn't wish that on any club or supporter.
But if the guy who owns Welling walks away I can see that happening. Goldberg, isn't it?
Blimey, I felt bad at Nuneaton when we were finally relegated out of the National Premier (Gonzola/Appliance). The crowd cheering at our demise. :(
Long trip home.

Agreed - I would not want to see Welling relegated or worse. Many years ago I will admit to watching their games when the Darts didn't have a game. Just about remember Bexley United going under and Welling were able to migrate from park to Park View. Of course if the worst does happen to them it would be tragic for players and supporters, but of course there is also the impact on E&B to consider.

I also remember seeing that last game at PVR before we went under so would not wish that on any club.

Nah, I don’t want to see any Kent club relegated or go under. I’d be more than happy with them all in the same division with us at the top or thereabouts. A bit like now really. 😂

Over the years I have watched a lot of football at Bus Stop FC - especially watching matches when they first moved to Park View Road with players like John Bartley, Nigel Ransome, Tony Agana and Andy Townsend amongst others. I was also the first ever fourth official for a Conference match there when Welling played Kettering Town in the opening match of the season - with Kettering as defending Conference champions. I even remember the days when they got crowds of over 2,000 at games, one of which was against Bath City. It is with sadness that I see their current plight - but that does not diminish the pleasure of having the Mighty Darts trounce them 6-0.

As to the ground I assume that it is still owned by Bexley Council - so therefore would assume that Erith & Belvedere would be safe no matter what happens to Welling
