I've said previously that I'll never complain about an away point to a top half side and that stands today. From the commentary it sounded like the first half was a struggle and we improved in the second half and arguably should have won the game, seems to be the story of a lot of our matches this season with the slow starts.

The disappointment I'm feeling is with the fact that by comments on here Braintree were not at their best and we failed to make the most of that. Other results also going against us means Havant and even Oxford who are on fire have closed the gap on us.

Look forward as always to reports from those at the game to get the full picture.

Two home games coming up, a chance to really show we're good enough for that 2nd place.

Braintree are unbeaten at home this season and are no mugs We never seem to win there so I would have taken a point before the game .
Not to many highlights to report but the goal was sublime, we passed them to death before the final ball to Mead who stole in and tapped home.

Don't worry we'll be OK cause we have plenty of full backs.

That was a hard watch in the first half with few passing movements and nothing to worry their keeper. Bad mistake allowing their goal through Ben's legs, which seemed to make him and the defence jittery. Braintree were nothing special, and fortunate they were poor with their scoring attempts.
The team came out early for the second half and had more energy, particularly after the substitution, which seemed a strange decision at the time. However Keiran played a more forward position than usual, and we started winning more 50/50s and combining with Luke and Samir he helped get things moving more positively, and our goal came from a brilliant passing movement involving several players. The one real bright spot of the afternoon.
Not easy to name a MOM and it shouldn't just be the goal scorer, but Jernade defended well and often broke and overlapped down the left, and in the right position to tap in.

Dire first half from us but much better second half. Cracking equalising goal by Jernade fishing off a delightful passage of play on the edge of their penalty area.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again for what it’s worth - CONSISTENCY is the key, not only from game to game but within games.

It’s clear from Dowses post-match interview that the team will be freshened up for Tuesday nights game and I’d anticipate 3 or 4 changes. For me Wally will make a welcome return to the starting line-up, Napa will start, Wilksy back between the sticks after Ben’s howler yesterday and one change in the back 4.

First half we were awful.
Couldn’t pass to each other, losing 50/50s , aimless long sky high balls with no Charlie or Alex. Way , way off it in the first half yet again seemed a lack of energy that they had in abundance.
Second half we improved, played some good football and for about 15 mins in that second half we tore them apart and got behind them a lot particularly down the right.
I know they’re good at home but they are not a better football team than us.
Match them for desire and energy for 90 mins and we beat them with football.
The defence I thought were exceptional again and my MOM goes to Tom.
Some of our first half performance puts them under huge pressure and thought they stood up brilliantly again.
I like Dowses interview and I like he’s not afraid to make changes if he feels it necessary for whatever reason.
Another huge game Tuesday

He can’t incite aggro. Look clearly he wants people to respond to his posts. Just ignore them all and eventually he will stop.

Why can’t he or she just be banned from the forum, he or she adds nothing constructive to this forum and yes we shouldn’t bite to his comments but I am passionate about DFC and sometimes I just can’t help it

I don’t disagree with you JCJ but I doubt being a knob and deliberately winding up people is justification for a ban, free speech and all that. Maybe he needs to swear a bit 😁
