Unfortunately you can't blame Ronnie for steering clear of the IPL. Far too good a player.

He would have been an excellent addition to the squad had we retained our Conference place, but as you say Ozy, far too good for IPL.

Shame, but then I put young Jack in the Ronnie Nelson category.
Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Connor Essam leaving Faversham.
Billy Bingham leaving Faversham.
Both still capable of playing Isthmian league, despite playing SCEFL last season.

Dan Wilks joins St Ives Town in Cambridgeshire (not Cornwall), They are a Southern League Central Division team I believe.
Re: Dartford Players of The Past
I know we all see players differently, but with respect to St Ives, l am amazed that Dan isn't playing at a higher level.tommytollbooth wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 5:53 am Dan Wilks joins St Ives Town in Cambridgeshire (not Cornwall), They are a Southern League Central Division team I believe.

Would Connor Essam be an asset for our young defenders this season ,anyone know how he did at Faversham last season ????
I liked the guy [ 100%er] and was previously happy at the Darts !!!!!!

Same here. Said so elsewhere. But he played at Billericay last season who are at the same level (Thanks to Tony H for that bit of info) and perhaps being closer to home might be a factor. But I’m amazed he’s not Step 1.Dave T wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 7:56 amI know we all see players differently, but with respect to St Ives, l am amazed that Dan isn't playing at a higher level.tommytollbooth wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 5:53 am Dan Wilks joins St Ives Town in Cambridgeshire (not Cornwall), They are a Southern League Central Division team I believe.

Re: Dartford Players of The Past
I think Connor was made captain at the beginning of the season and a couple of supporters thought he was a good signing.
Had a few injuries towards the back end of the season and from what I saw (3 matches) shipped a few goals.
Did well to finish runners up after falling away at Christmas, which led to the sacking of Sammy Moore. The bringing in of Tommy Warrilow didn't improve them much, it was what it was, South Eastern Counties football. Warrilow persisted with Payne up front who was overweight and well beyond his best.
Personally I think Connor would not come back to Dartford, if he did it would be in the back room but hopefully Ade has his own people lined up.
We have to give Ade's choice some backing.

I sounded a bit like Duke there. A form card at a day at the races.
But honestly, forget Essam.
