Good morning everyone. I have been away, we've lost a Queen (Bless her) and gained a King. We've won at Dover, annoyed with that one as it's just down the road and are already out of the FACup, even more annoyed.
Looking at the highlights, very few. I thought that even with a struggling team we should have beaten Beckenham. With which ever manager and squad we should have been professional enough, being two divisions higher, to see them off. Although I did see that they had Louis Theophanos in their side, even if he is at the arse end of his career.
I won't comment on players, not my place. having read the debate on here I tend to steer clear. But one sentence from Rambo that stood out in my mind was was 'keep Carruther's, get rid of the rest'. I would tend to think also of Coulson could be added to that short list.
At the end of last season I thought there would have been a mass exodus only to find that the first signings were very disappointing. But of course that was under a new manager who was having to scramble to get 11 players.
The business of giving 10 games to see where we stand is a solid justification. When struggling at the foot of the table and taking on SK, within ten games we were barreling up the table and on the edge of the play-offs. That doesn't make me a Royalist. I liked Steve a lot, but you have to go with the Board as regards the safety of our club.
Dowse was not the first name in my head, in fact, he wasn't in my head at all. But we've got to give him our support. Whether I like the way he goes about things or not.
Hampton will not be a push-over regardless of LL's help in telling us how to run the club. Unfortunately I won't be attending for this one either. I'm not pushing myself these days and that is not because of the way things are at this moment.
I hope for a win one way or the other.
